I just bought the same quad and mine make a knock noise when let off gas coming to a stop. Was thinking may be the clutch spring letting convertor slap.?? Any ideas

That's very possible, these engines do sound like they have a rod knock on decel, because it's air-cooled you can hear the engine noises more. Could be the belt hitting the clutch cover
