I too have been puzzled that this is so uncommon. I have adapted (used) router tables, and agree waste management is important. The chute off the cutter is clever.

Adding to a router table is a good idea. This one was a spur of the moment quick project. I'm pleased with the size, and particularly the weight to put it away easily.
