So many reviewers say the same thing "probably enough room to fit a helmet in there" but never demonstrate. The space for a full face helmet looks marginal on this scooter yet it is the single most important thing apart from engine, weight and ability to deliver its specs for many owners. So PLEASE, always actually try to fit a helmet under the seat. Personally it would make or break a decision to buy or not to buy!

I own a SYM fiddle 125. It is very fast off the mark beating most traffic. Top speed 65mph... Cruises around 60mph. Owned it 1.5 years and it has never let me down. Starts first time, every time. Storage, full face helmet under seat and gloves and hi-vis vest or a rucksack. Top box for all my locks, tools and a cover. Clip at front to carry a bag. I get 80 to 100 miles on a 6.2 litre tank. It costs me £7 to fill up. I absolutely love it. I check the tyre pressures and engine oil. It's almost maintenance free and it's so much fun to ride. £3,000 OTR what's not to love?

I did sit on this bike, as a bit of a lard arse myself and average height I found it very comfortable. I did end up getting a Zontes ZT125M instead however and think besides not having stop/start it is the best value premium 125 scooter out there for £3.5K with a build quality to rival Japanese bikes.

I had a test drive on the Sym Adx 125 but could not get over the lack of power, i ended up with a 350cc Honda Forza. Fuel consumption is very close to a 125 but with a vario upgrade i now do 0-62 in 8.2 seconds. Top speed is not very impressive at about 100 mph but that does mean i can easily overtake when i unintentionally end up on a highway. I definitely recommend trying a 300-350cc scooter before buying a 125!! 9:57 Exactly. With a 125 you try to keep up with traffic. With a 300/350 you are ahead of traffic.

I 100% agree. 300’s and above are so much better. Unfortunately in the uk 125’s are as high as learners can ride after the CBT so they are restricted. They have to pass a test before they get to play on the big boys. 😎

@@GillyBikes That makes sense than. In my country (Holland) there is only an A1 and an A2 license. Drivers under 21 are not allowed to have more than 35KW, that's all. So there is no real need for a 125cc market here, they are veeeeery rare. As for 50CC and/or max 4KW mopeds/scooters, those also require a license, with lessons, exams, the whole shabang, with a minimum age of 16.

I think there a great looking little scooter. The good points are the monoshock suspension, instead of the usual rubbish 2 spring shock set up's. And the fact I don't think you mentioned is the 15litre tank offering over 300 miles which would be brilliant if you were on a long 125 adventure 🙂. I do think there a bit expensive,and am sure they would sell alot more at £2995! Ps like your comment at 12.44 when you said they are very symilar!!!😅😅

good review, I have an adx and I've already done 3000km with it and spent 6 tanks of gas. The best sym I've had to date. The only drawback is that the suitcase doesn't fit a full-face helmet, I have an AGV K1 and an Icon Airflite and the luggage doesn't close, if it's an open helmet it fits without a problem.

Sym used to build Hondas under licence so they should be reliable . That scooter is not a serious off roader ,it’s more of a styling exercise , to cash in on the ADV fad . I can’t see the point in stop start especially ,on a low capacity scooter ,where fuel usage is negligible anyway, plus it’s just more to potentially cause extra wear & issues . Scooters have their place ,for commuting , I bought a Malaguti 125 twist & go Maxi styled scooter ,which used a version of the Yamaha Majesty 125 engine ,liquid cooled 12 • 2 hp in 2000. The thing handled like a Ducati sports ,& It would show 75 mph on clock on a good day ( genuine 70 mph ) . I could get a XL full face helmet & a Jet open face under the seat . It was a good commuter & beer truck , & so comfortable it could be ridden for miles ,even two up . The only problem is removing all the plastic ,to get at anything , & the small wheels can disappear down potholes & almost rip the Engine come swing arm arrangement out the frame . I still prefer proper motorcycles with manual gears & their larger wheels given the choice . 👍
@GillyBikes8 ай бұрын
I’m the same. I prefer the big geared bikes but for city and town riding these scoots are just brilliant. Ideal for a second bike.

@@GillyBikes I still have the 125 Malaguti Maddison maxi styled scoot , which is now an ongoing refurb project . I also have a 20O4 Honda Innova 125 carburettor step thru auto clutch 4 speed manual cub type scooter ,in great nick , as a smaller day to day runabout come bimble machine , My only larger bike at present ,is a Suzuki 250 DE parallel twin V. strom ADV style motorcycle ,which I down sized to ,& suits my needs these days . I almost bought a mint used Vespa GT 300 instead , but the manual geared larger wheeled Suzuki motorcycle won my decision . 👍
@GillyBikes8 ай бұрын
I’m a fan of the Vstrom myself. I had a 1050 and toured all over Europe on it. Great bike. What’s the 250 like? Any good off road or is it just for the road?
@maskedavenger25788 ай бұрын
@@GillyBikes The 250 V strom De version is mainly a road bike , but will do some light off road tracks . The 17 inch wheels have road tyres , & give it surprisingly nimble handling . It’s geared on the low side ,so although the engine is very smooth ,it revs quite high at motorway speeds . It’s more for A & B roads with the odd section of motorway , a ideal utility runaround with plenty of places to attach luggage . In places like Colombia & Latin America ,they ride them for miles ,on all kinds of dodgy road surfaces , & even at high altitude , so they can’t be bad . The reason they didn’t sell in big numbers in the U.K. ,was probably the fixation for high speed & horsepower . On normal roads I find myself doing the same kind of speeds ,as I did on much larger bikes ,& haven’t missed the larger bikes . 👍

@maskedavenger2578 the 250’s in the uk are always a hard sell. No matter how good they are. I’ve seen so many great 250’s stay in dealerships for months and months. Not big enough for the big bike test. To big for a learner. Such a shame. Stupid rules in the uk.
