Cheap Shots: Screwball Scramble Level 2

We're back with another short video episode, and this week we are taking on the might of Screwball Scramble Level 2 and giving some love to Tomy toys whilst we are at it!
These will be simple, usually "in one shot" videos were we eat, play or investigate cheap items that didn't make it on to the pod, were too visual or simply something we want to revisit!

I'M LOST IN A WORLD WITHOUT SAUCE

So i actually used to play the donkey kong wind up thing all the time. Still do when it shows up. The timer DOES last long enough, it has to. The goal is to attach the ball to the magnet at the bottom of the rotating kong. The issue with it is the ball would get stuck between bridges and stuff. So yeah likely is either your not winding it enough, or the spring has wound down. Coz i remember there being enough time to get the ball to the magnet. Maybe for 1 or two mistakes.

I remember playing that little Kong game and it never did last long enough. Spring steel generally won't lose it's tension unless it's been left over-loaded for a very long period of time. Even old clocks that have been left over-wound for years still tend to work once the mechanisms are cleaned. In this case, Tomy probably just used cheap springs. It doesn't take away from the fun though! Keep up the excellent content!

This setup was rigged like the 1994 Formula 1 Grand Prix from Adelaide when Schumacher kicked out Hill after East Terrace!! So I measured the time of both of you from start to end. Result: Eli had 1:50 for the whole parcours and Paul actually 1:45. So I declare Paul also the official winner of the British Screwball Scramble Open 2024 in the category 'Full Distance, Clothed'.

I ended up getting absolutely obsessed with Tomy's toy train range Plarail (which was exported to the U.S. and U.K. a few times, notably with the Thomas the Tank Engine license) and it has gotten me even deeper into Tomy toys than I was as a kid, absolute electro-mechanical geniuses with brilliant toys like Big Loader and Atomic Arcade Pinball, all their robots and car and train sets, and the Tomy board and pocket games... love hearing you guys (and Ashens and folk) talk about and play Tomy toys
