I use a comb to get stripes. I also tape off the hanging hole off a lure box (pretty much any small item package). I cut a piece off my old loofah to get a nice scale pattern

Thank you! It’s been super helpful since I started painting. It’s a great hobby and makes fishing that much more fun when you catch something on a bait you’ve created.

@@cjbaits402 yes it is! I got a few different shad patterns down and starting on getting good at doing the gills and craws, once again the playdough thing is going to help me with that

An excellent idea. Is it possible to cut out the Gill Plates and Fins? Or is it better to cut these out once the stencils have dried?

I tried this with polymer clay,it was a pain in the ass trying to get the halves kept together but it did work

I tried a translator to try to answer your question -- It dries and hardens on its own as it sits. Takes maybe 18-20 hours. Becomes brittle after it dries so be cautious. I spray it with a clear coat to add some protection. Hope that is an answer!

I use play dough for mold making ,it’s way easier than polymer clay
