I saw Cheap Trick July 3, 1976 at Summerfest with Peter Frampton, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Gary Wright, Steve Miller, Supertramp, Triumph, Zebra......There was Bun E., high up on the riser above them all, raining down the thunder. His masterful playing laying down the groove melding with and covering the parochial efforts of the bass and infusing life into the crude chording. Spontaneous, ,inspired, machine like, cohesive kind of drumming that sends shivers up the spine. Put the Bun back in the oven!

I am confused. I read on a fan page today that they referenced Trump in this song. But I didn't hear it. I know it's in the drop down lyrics. Am I missing it in the song?

You're not missing it It's not in this version on the song. I'm still looking for the full 1 hour iheart show maybe it was sung then?

@@tjohnson8647 I had wanted to watch it but my notification never went off. I'm sure someone recorded it. I heard an interview with Rick and him saying the album is about the past 4 year's. Kinda shady of the record company to remove it. What's said is said or sung. Im more questioning if it's for publicity sake? After all of these years why now, ya know?
@AMamasLove3 жыл бұрын
@@tjohnson8647 I totally agree! I bought my 1st album and went to my 1st show in 1977. I've been to 39 shows since. #40 I was springing for the Meet & Greet as I've never been lucky enough to meet them. Then Covid hit. Im still holding onto that dream. However if their music is going to stir up the political BS especially of the past 4 year's I'm out. I've had enough divide for the rest of my life. Yes, Lennon could be very political but times were different. Lennon also pushed peace. Which is what we need in these days in my opinion. So glad to have someone to have a civil conversation with!

@@tjohnson8647 Wow! What an experience to have with a favorite band! Probably as close to a friendship as you can get! And yes, I would have done the same as you did. It sounds like we're in the same age group but grew up on different coasts. I can no longer understand so much of this life. I dont exactly know when it changed, it feels like I woke up one day in a different world and I don't like it at all. My social circles have gotten smaller as my beliefs have not changed but other's have. CT has been a constant I could count on since I was a teen. I have 4 now adult children that were raised on their music. My husband of 31 years is full aware that Robin would be my only hall pass lol. He knew that before he ever married me. For me it's not the politics as much as the disappointment that they have joined the masses of name caller's and the spread of bad behavior and hate. I've lost respect I guess. I've known Robin's political party for years. Since he's a Florida resident it's not a secret. And it's never been an issue with me. I don't vote party, I vote issue's. I consider myself an independent. And I have no issues with either party. I have issues with lack of respect no matter what your opinion is.

@@therealfronzilla The song is political in the first place, and I didn't print "Trump the rump" in the lyrics which are listed in the drop-down notes. I noted that they didn't match what was being sung in the actual recording: "Tricky Dickie", which is a political reference to Richard Nixon _not_ Trump. The present-tense political nature of the _listed_ lyrics is glaring, considering.
