Love how this set starts with 'Downed'. At the time of this recording, I was only 6 months old and just about to move into our new family house in Seaford, Victoria, Australia! 'Gonna live on a mountain, way down under in Australia!' Of course I was too young to understand what was going on in the Cheap Trick camp, but I do remember seeing the Dream Police video/clip on TV as a toddler and this definitely made an impact on my young brain. Still was too young (4 years) to understand... Fast forward to '88 and lap of luxury. Cheap Trick toured Australia in April and Sept/October that year. Once again was too young to be admitted to the concerts (then 13) but I fell in love with the band and Bun's solid rhythms! Got a copy of CT live in Australia (Selinas, Sydney, NSW, Australia early October '88) and was blown away by their live expertise... Then started to collect their entire back catalogue and remembered Dream Police and other songs from my early childhood like, '82's 'If you want my love', which was pretty well a chart topper in Australia that year. My first live CT show was at Festival Hall in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia 28/08/90. Huge double bill. Cheap Trick and The Angels! The rest is history... My introduction to Cheap Trick came via Velvet Revolver's cover of Surrender. I listened to Downed next and then I was hooked! So much more to this band than IWYTWM and The Flame. I am STILL investigating their back catalogue and it has become a labour of love. There's just so much truly magnificent music and live shows. Love it!

This is just the coolest thing ever. Are you familiar with Brian's Man Cave show on Z93 radio Keokuk? He plays local and classic rock music, dedications and interviews. It's gaining a lot of popularity in the tri-state areas. You should let him interview you to promote this. Even if just a call-in. Brian and I were front row at Cheap Trick at Quincy Auditorium in 1982. We're both lifelong fans and he plays Cheap Trick on his show often.

Is this the show where John McVie accused Rick of calling his wife "a cheap trick" after he gave Christine a band tee? I have heard "Go Go Girls" a gazillion times, but didn't notice til now that it is basically a variation of "I Can See For Miles.". . . .and Rick had a great voice back in the day. He could've been the vocalist if he could've stood still long enough to stay on mic. Heh.
