I saw these guys last night and Robin sang it perfectly! The emotion he puts in the song is simply amazing! It always reminds me of the me of my boyfriend, Kenny, he passed away in an accident in 1982 and I miss him every day. This song just makes me think of him because 2 months before he passed away, he told me that if he goes first, he will always be with me and I believe he has been! He LOVED music and would love this song too!

AWESOME!!! I've never heard such a brilliantly clear sounding version of "The Flame"! It's such a great song to hear live, altho it's usually a bit distorted thanx to those huge arena amps....not to mention all of us Trixsters who just HAVE to sing along (guilty!). I read that quite a bit with other bands (from back in the day) video. The world keeps turning and everyone gets a day older with each passing day... I'm just glad that bands keep playing live music no matter what age. Seems like getting older is a crime here on KZbin. :)

I was at the Cheap Trick/Heart/Journey concert at San Diego and I thought Zander sounded great. Without a doubt the best band out of the three.

yeah for his age this is still good.. I sing this song in my band too in a standard key and yet i tuned it down 1 chord sometimes to make it smooth coz this kind of song is kinda not easy to sing too

it could be any number of reasons, for instance, this song allways comes deep into the set, or even simply just a bad night. Regardless, robin will allways be one of the great voices in rock music. its just sad that this particular night they were being taped for a video. try the "silver" cd/dvd for a much better(i think the best) version of this classic

Well, i love the original version, it develops some much power into the song. I can't help feel a little disappointed about how the voice sounds live, but it is also true it cannot be the same 20 years later. Also the general sound, was it supposed to be like this? Maybe because they where performing in a jazz festival, but it shouldn't sound so, how can I put it?, so "acoustic" ...

Arnel Pineda DEFINITELY can hold the mic of ZANDER... just look at the degree of difficulty zander endures just to reach the voice level of the original recorded music.

I'm thinking it was just an off night. Bands do have those from time to time no matter how long they have been doing it. I saw these guys live back in '96 and their performance the whole night was 10 times better than this. Robin looks very tired. Jet lag maybe?

Rick Nielsen’s playing was off. I don’t know what the fuck Bun E. was doing on them drums. The best part was robins singing. At 50+ still being able to hit those notes like that? Amazing. I am hearing also what many have said. Something also sounds “lacking” in this audio. Maybe the sound editor/mixer was drunk or something. Probably one of their weakest live performances on KZbin. Yike!
