My partner is French and she really likes Cheap Trick but you are right, they are not known in France. They are a hugely talented band- check out live at Daryl's House for a barnstorming version of Surrender. At least it is now known that they have got a two fans from France!

@@eightiesmusic1984 I'm Scottish and love them! I don't think there's a big fan base here and many people probably think IWYTWM and The Flame ARE Cheap Trick. So, so wrong! They have an amazing back catalogue and are extremely talented musicians. Do yourself a favour and have a good listen! Magnificent!! (As further enticement Robin Zander is extremely good looking!).

this version reminds me of Richard Butler singing Pretty in Pink in 1981 more so then Bowie (..but then Richard was trying to immitate Bowie at times...) This live performance of carries this same distinct ecstatic wonder feel from that by gone era...when New Wave was wtill so cutting edge...amazing how Cheap Trick was able to precisely perform that sound again here.
