Hank, I just got the exact same Husqvarna Functional Hemet w/ ear protection. The helmet visor and mesh screen are a bear to figure out. I think I need to go back to 5th grade to learn how they connect. The assembly instructions are a piece of crap but can't allow frustration to take over. Okay my brother, take it easy. Enjoyed a full-watch. Later. Don 👍🏽🙂

I have done some research on the sizing and I am still confused. You said that you purchased the 36-38"what is your inseam if you were going to buy a pair of jeans? After the older helmet messed up the second time I would have to permanently attach it. If the wife seen it happening she would be laughing at how annoyed I get when equipment fails. Can you comment on the cost of the arborist type class you are taking?

Anyway, for learning how to use a chainsaw (from one of the best and most experienced), check out “Buckin Billy Ray Smith”. Excellent tutorials on just about everything you need to know about every felling situation, plus bucking, splitting, sharpening, and using an ax, etc.

AS far as chaps go, what's a leg or life worth, Pal! I had to drag mine down and see even what kind they were. They're Stihl, 6 ply wrap around. I've had them probably 5 or 6 years and got them because I was working for the outfit and got a good deal. They're heavy BUT my FEET weight more than you do and I have NO trouble with them while sawing. That's the LAST thing I worry about with my saw screaming away right in front of me. And 10/4 on the cooler weather for wood. I'll start right shortly myself. So listen to Gina and pet the doggie. You'll be glad you did! GBWYall!

Been using those chaps for the last year. They are great and have held up really well. The fit is amazing once you adjust all the straps. Also FYI WorksafeBC is a for profit workers compensation system. They have ruined many many lives and usually leave injured workers to rot every chance they get. That is how they make their profit.
