How name can be misleading, thanks to Eva who pointed this out... product is made for jewelery, specially designed for UV resin or epoxy resin. I must have missed the letter UV... there is no explanation of how to use this product and I believe many of us could see them as liquid pearls for crafters... hmmm I guess I read better next time... :)

on the other hand it says for craft making :) but how we should know how to use it... also checked... some other sellers don't call them liquid pearls but die etc and if we should use it with lamp... some info should be there if the lamp is not included :) I believe it is a little trick and done on purpose to call this product liquid pearls... misleading name cause business :)

Great review Marta, especially because you were so open and honest in admitting that you had been misled by the product's description. Unless you were a jewelery maker you wouldn't know there was another similarly named product out there! If people watched to the end of videos instead of jumping in with their opinions half way through, perhaps they'd have less negativity and more appreciation for what you're trying to do for us all. Please continue to do these unbiased reviews so we can make good decisions about where and how to spend our money wisely. Big hugs always

Marta I am so glad that you made this video! I just mentioned yesterday how I love your cheap verses expensive comparison videos & am working on a protect myself that I'll share once complete. This however touched on a very important fact...there are so many companies out there that people try because there are so many art products. As a consumer of art supplies of course I would love to have it all & try to find bargains, but sometimes when you cut corners & buy products like this you end us spending more money. I've spent so much money trying what I thought were the same product...only to have to purchase the real thing in the end & being left frustrated. It's good to try things, but it's also good to trust the amazing companies that put out these products that are known to work. Thank you for doing this test & making such a valid point! 💖

In this case you are comparing apples to oranges both may be fruit however very different. Both products use pearlescent powder, have a liquid form and are used in crafts but for different crafts. What you are calling ‘fake’ is a pigment dye used to colour resin and needs curing and is not meant for paper crafts out of the bottle the way you were using it. It works perfectly well for it’s indented use. When looking at products from foreign sellers look at several seller descriptions. For many English is definitely not their first language and it sometimes takes looking at several descriptions to understand if the products is what you are looking for.

Good morning Marta! Thank you so much for this demo. What an eye opener ! In my opinion my Ranger pearls are the best I have been able to find . I love the colors, they last forever and are the perfect little touch to my projects. I have just recently started purchasing craft and artist supplies from China because of this video I will be more careful what I order. I guess if I really want to try something I will buy in a small amount first . Thanks again for the video. Have a great day! Much love to you and the little munchkins ❤️❤️❤️

I am so glad you did this comparison and then found out why it wasn't working. I would have made exactly the same mistake and ordered it for the purpose it appears to be for due to its name, vague description and and lack of clear instructions. Instead, however, you have been able to, with the help of some viewers clarify what the product actually is saving some of us the same angst. It is probably a fantastic product to experiment with using a little lamp to make and coat embellishments. Intriguing! I am really tempted to try it out now. Thank you so much for sharing.

Excellent review and reminder ... cheaper is not always the same. There is a reason some art products cost what they do - it's their quality you're paying for. We all have a choice as to what we choose to buy. This was a great review because is showed that if you buy a product with a name you trust, the manufacture of it may not be the same. If you needed to add something to this to make it work, then it should have been in the information that is listed beside the product online. The two should be sold together. Marta, you are always so positive that I know you were just wanting to point out to us that buying from the original designers is important ... full stop. We need to support original art supply manufacturers. I felt you were fair and made a good point here. Thank you for the reminder. I buy other things that are made in China all the time - so I don't have a problem with buying from China. I just have a problem with misleading marketing ... by anyone. I know I can trust you. Thank you for being that type of person!! Well done, you!! ❤️

You know there are many liquid pearls on the market, many have been around for 30 years or more and were made to use on fabric first. Those are the ones i still use. Nice to see they are uv, you can still use them, just get a lamp or leave in the sun, might be a lot of fun to experiment with. To make those dots? the larger ones?

To be fair , I believe what you purchased was "Liquid Resin pigment" . I've been roaming Ali Ex and I have seen a lot of the colorant for your Resin projects. I searched pigment pearls on wish and only found tons of lipsticks a couple ranger liquid pearls like we all know which was selling for 12$ ! Astronomical and I saw one or two of the Resin pigments. They also sell Pigment that is in Pearl color. It was called" Pearl pigment". That is why it never dried because with Resin the scientific way to set it is to add a hardener to it. part A and part B. Resin is more oil based in itself . The wetness that you observed was the oil from the colorants you were testing. So in my opinion I believe what you tested were totally 2 different products. I understand I wasn't there when you purchased them and don't know what term you searched for, for them to display the Resin pigments in your search for products. Maybe they stated they were pigment pearl , pearl pigment but that just indicates that they are in a pearlesent effect. I'm only being the devil's advocate because I feel i have a very fair judgement. Also, I think it's fair to you. To get another point of view because maybe you just made a judgement that was skewed by their wording since English isn't your main language . This is again my opinion on the products you tested. I also want to make sure viewers can go check it out themselves and make their own mind up to how fair was your comparison. You had a great principle and point and that was about china quality vs American made (for example ) and the huge copyrite infringements as they steal artists products. I can understand that you were trying to make a point . I adore your videos and find that you have quality and fair product comparisons for the majority. This video just wasn't so ideal because the bottles didn't even have their contents written on their product. I hope you find this comment educational amd not what so ever an attack on your abilities or ethics. Maybe you'll agree with me , maybe you won't. But thats fair enough because aren't we all deserving of our own opinion. Let me know what you think. ? Thanks for sharing so much of your time and giving us help and inspirations to make us all better at what we love to do, and that's crafting. Take care.

Great idea Marta! It's a real challenge trying to juggle a budget. But that is really 12 euro out the door unless you have the time to test different products to add to save what little you have left. If my liquid pearls or nuvo drops get thick or start to not play well, I add glossy accents or a 3D adhesive of some sort. let them rest a bit and you have more product again. thanks for the video!

With the dove craft you are meant to gently tap underneath the card to level out the little peak, but if you tap too hard the pearl will flatten out, although this is good if you want an enamel dot look.

As someone who can not afford name brand products there are tricks try using them mixing with small amount of glue all as a thickener. Modge podge may work also. Those are what i used in my home made products. I also agree with one of the comments China made supplies have many dangerous chemicals in their products especially lead based colors. Beware using them. Continue these comparisons please.

Rebecca Miller FYI, metallic acrylic craft paint, (or old mica eye-shadow) clear Elmer's glue, cornstarch or baby powder and a smidge of water to get it to flow. If you use eye shadow, you probably wont need the corn starch. Just mash it all together and experiment with the consistency until you can pick it cup with a toothpick and get your desired result. Of course its extra work but costs next to nothing. She was comparing resin which needs UV to cure but will never get "puffy", its meant to spread. Mod Podge or glue wouldn't work for resin, as far as I've tried.

I also love your comparison videos. I also agree with others that we must become more savvy consumers and read labels for content or ingredients. I was surprised to learn the name brand products were made in China but then that's business which is about the bottom line...profit. I do buy from eBay and Ali Express. I am not opposed to merchandise from China. The only thing I have noticed is when I buy from those merchants, I get a large influx of spam emails. Has anyone else had that experience?

It may not work for pearls BUT it might work for something else. I would consider adding it to something else as a pigment for one. Don't shut down the door to all of China just based on a 5 minute video. LoL. I go to Walmart and Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc. About 95% of the products on their shelves ARE from China. Some u.s. companies hire China and other countries to make their product too. Just keep an open mind is all I'm saying. This one paint (inferior One) might be better used in another artistic application.

I put a link below but I am not sure it will work just type in this product and it should come up www.creative-expressions.uk.com/productcatalogue/index.php?tid=5306&pbid=BRAND&lev=2&did=COSMIC%20SHIMMER%20COLOURFUL%20CRYSTAL%20TINTS

My biggest worry about buying "cheap" is - "Are they safe" - have they got anything in which could be toxic, especially for children .. We pay the 'extra' for well-known brands hoping we are are something which passes UK / USA or EU safety laws - but - with China, we cannot be certain we are getting the same protection ...

I only buy original products but I don't always agree with the prices. A lot of products are very very pricey but I'd rather safe up my money and get a quality brand than buy cheap and inferior products (which could ultimately lead to a necessity to replace, making it even more expensive).

Very fair comparison. Also, there is no control on toxicity of the fake products compared to the real. That worries me as well. Thanks for that Marta.

A very good review. You gave both of them an equal chance and the China products definitely failed. Sometimes it is not worth buying the cheaper items if they are not going to work properly.

That is a lot of oil in that product. It would destroy all our hard work. I, like you, use Liquid Pearls and Nuvo also. They last a long time and work great. Thank you for sharing the information.❤️ I read your comment after I posted mine. You’re right it is very misleading if it says for crafting. It should say for jewelry making. It would be a waste of money for the person that doesn’t make jewelry.

glaube an einen Übersetzungsfehler in China. Das ist Flüssigkeit um Resin / Harz einzufärben und nicht für Perlen.

Wow I’m shocked with how the original Ranger and Nuvo ones don’t even move and the China ones are so liquid and oily. That’s crazy!! Thank you for sharing this!

This is so true. I will not order from them. I love to try new things, but their reputation for the knockoffs is not good.

Eeew! Those China ones are AWFUL! thank you for doing this for us! My opinion about wish an similar site's are mixed. I bought some stuff from them (as you know, giggle) and I was actually surprised by the quality of some of them. When it comes to stolen art, there is no way in heck that I'd buy them but when it comes to products like this that are similar to other like paint, utensils and what not, I think they have as much right to try to develop their own version if they want. Sort of like how Ranger makes their own version of products that other companies also sell. The competition with other countries in pricing isn't really fair though because of their super low prices. I will buy from them again I'm sure but I hope at some point, then are forced to take things off of their sales lists that are flat out stolen designs. That should be illegal as far as I'm concerned. Thank you again so much for this video. Nuvo will always be my first pick for pearls. Definitely not the "made in China" ones. Lol! What a rip off. Hahaha! ❤️❤️❤️

Most times you get what you pay for. If the price seems TOO good there is a good chance you will be disappointed. :)

I have had much better luck with tools from China than materials. Brushes and stencils are sometimes great. Markers and paints might be dried out or cheaply formulated.
