Did you try adding a little olive oil to increase its ‘stickiness’?

Olive oil? To make the "clay" clump together better? Would never had thought of doing that. Never see it done.

Loved the video, but the music made me keep fast-forwarding as it was so loud.

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

Same here. Went from a really like this to oh my god the volume.... Speech low and music extremely high. Music in the background when talking is a pet hate. New to the casting and an explanation of what and why you are doing would have been far more interesting than background music. I know you may have done it many times over but there will always be someone like me that knows nothing. Thanks to the uploader anyway.

I'm new to pouring. Every time I "pound" the clay into the mold, the clay "cracks" in certain places. It usually doesn't crack or split, where I was using the hammer. When I add more clay, it still happens. Is it possible I'm pounding too hard on the hammer? Thank you in advance.

The delft clay appeared to have a finer surface finish as well as a nicer overall cast if you look at the coin as a whole instead of just surface details, especially the outside rim of the coin. Of all the casting clay/sands I've tried delft still gives me the highest quality overall product short of using investment.

Non delft is so dry I get to clean up so much crumbles. Nonetheless, thanks for the comparison.

Great job thank you. Did you figure out why you got wavey lines?
@garethowen70503 жыл бұрын
@@billsaunders1879 Short answer, No. Think it's to do with the silver cooling in a none uniform way.

@@garethowen7050 I get those lines when casting into my two part iron ingot mould when I am casting sheet silver ingots. There are videos on youtube where people pouring ingots into open top graphite moulds strive to get regular patterns of those cooling lines while pouring to add their own personal touch to their product .
