Enjoyed your video .You sounded natural and did your thing with confidence. That's what matters. I would also like to suggest that you look for line table screen printing. It's always in some Asian language, but trust me it's technical and you''ll understand it anyway. That's what I'm doing in Kenya and the advantage is the you'll be able to do multi color printing in no time and for a fraction of what it takes to buy a brand name screen printing press. STAY BLESSED AND KEEP ON HUSTLIN'.

you don't need to do the emulsion in the dark, just low light. It's UV light or sunlight that affects them not a lightbulb. No need to have dark room just be away from sunlight
@mikiex
@mikiex 2 жыл бұрын
Don't use halogen lighting though because that does have UV light in it... but actually halogen flood lights are a good alternative to exposing using the sun and much more controlled

The art conservation method for stretching canvas and canvas plyers would be beneficial. To use this you would staple each side with one or two staples in the middle applying a fair amount of tension. Then you work your way out the canvas stapling 1/2 of the canvas to the right or left in one direction. You do this a few staples at a time, rotating to the next face on the same side of the staples until you reach the corners. THEN you come back to center staples and do the same thing in the opposite direction. This works better than starting at the corners because you avoid putting excessive tension in the corners where they occasionally rip or rip over time while the middle stays taught....working as your doing really only works for EXTREMELY flexible material which this may be. About to order some after watching this!!!

Hi ! Great video. I’m in the process of printing T-shirt’s and I feel I need to make the press to really be accurate and do a good job. And one thing that’s blowing my mind and I can’t figure out is how the screen is positioned perfectly? Or do you just drill the hinge clamps in a certain height up depending on where you want the print to be on the shirt ? If that makes sense plz let me know. I’d appreciate it a lot, again great video, thanks !

So when you expose them you have to pre measure and know your spacing on your shirts and find your center lines on your art, screens and on your press and mark them with a sharpie ... and when you tape your artwork to the screens you just have to line them up... now real professional screen printers add printer marks to the transparency to line up to the pre made marks on their exposure units
@Ar19999
@Ar19999 3 жыл бұрын
@@ArizonaLifestyles1 ah, thing is I will be getting a company to expose my screen, do you think what I said would work? Make the actual press itself, get everything lined up with the screen, mark where the hinges need to go and drill them in ?
@EarthnikNews

Mark had a great comment about using low light and not dark. The emulsion is nit that sensitive. I do want to mention that because you are using a positive image and exposing it to make a negative image … exposing it longer will make the spokes of the tires thinner not thicker. So if you need to make an adjustment in exposure, expose it less. Other things to think about are how dark is the image you are using to expose onto the emulsion? And if the original image is not touching the emulsion completely, light will undercut the image … perhaps making the spokes of your art appear thinner.

I also watched the The Print Life video and produced my own DIY press to start my own one colour print brand.
