I got one of these for £10 shipped. It worked great reflowing a PCB with low-temp solder paste. I haven't tried to use it to do any de-soldering of high-temp lead-free solder but I think it would work fine for that too. For the price you really can't go wrong. Just don't throw away the manual as it's pretty hard to use without it.

The similar "MECHANIC IX5 Ultra" has metal fittings to secure the board. This allows heat to be transferred evenly and the board is fixed in place, making it easy to move components.

Nice! Is it possible to program some reflow curves there? Also curious, What kind of camera/recording setup are you using?

whats the max temp on this? Have you been able to remove parts from pcbs with large ground planes? For the price and what it can do seems very nice. Is there a github or a link to where you can find the specs? Maybe the 3d file for the case if you wanted to print it in a different color.

Does that small heat plate (6x6 cm in white) work on USB 5v?
@tomatos6665 ай бұрын
Hello, the temperature sensor in my device came loose, which I have repaired. However, the springs of the contact pins broke after about 3 hours of use at 150°C. Unfortunately, there was a short circuit in the connection to the heating plate. Now the display only shows 5V instead of 20V, and only if the power supply plug is in a specific position. Is the issue likely with the power supply or the heating plate?
@dennisholder7517Ай бұрын
is it possible to read the firmware from this microcontroller? if so, what is needed for this?
@arun.sekherАй бұрын
Good thing that the electrolytic capacitor didn’t pop and launch itself right at the camera when you pulled it off the PCB and tossed it onto the hotplate! That could've been a real electrifying fireworks show! ⚛
