Thanks for putting this video up, it's really useful. I'm looking for a small spray gun like this to paint a vice and some tractor bits so I don't need amazing quality and it's good to know that something like this will work, although I'll check out the ANI first. I also really appreciate that you don't ramble and going off on tangents which seems to be very common on videos! Thanks a lot

Hi Ben, I am often guilty of going off topic, not by much, but it does happen 😉 Good to hear you found the video worth watching. Do have a look at the ANI or maybe one of the Chinese R500 style guns, or a Chinese W101 gun, they are pretty good and should come in around 30 GBP, cheers mate, thanks for watching 😉

@@peteshobbies5383 I'm just going through your videos on the GF3 now! They're really useful and I think that's the one I'll go for. Do you have any videos on how to choose the right nozzle size? It looks like there are 4 options for the GF3
@peteshobbies5383Ай бұрын
@Ben-kt5rc No, No videos directly about tip sizes, if you look at the TDS, so Technical Data Sheets for the product you are going to spray it should give you a recommended tip size

Lasted about 5 months in which I upgraded to a CA technologies mini hvlp gun, then the Walcom ego190 0.7mm now i use the DV1S 0.7mm mini for cerakote

Love your video s your the only person I know that spray s like me. I find it give s me a really flat finish. Love painting myself. Very additive. Rob.

Thanks Rob, it's funny, because some people have said i do it wrong, not many but a few, and one comment they also say is " I can't believe you get the finish you do doing it the way you do" which surely makes the first part of there statement void? . Anyway, I do modify my style sometimes but at the end of the day, if the results are good and last over time it doesn't matter how you got there. Glad you like your painting, as you probably guessed I'm the same, as you say, it's very additive and really quite satisfying when you step back and take it all in, cheers mate, thanks for watching 👍

Hey Pete, congrats on passing the 1K subs mate very well deserved if you get many more you will be charging us a pay per view fee 😲😂 That tank looks great to me not a bad finish for that gun, as you say if it's just for a one off job then it's an ideal gun or you might get a few months out of it before something fails on the gun, hmm ok that's it I'm selling all my DV1's and GTI ProLite's then spending it all on a holiday then get one of those £10 guns, nah I'll get 2 of them 😎 That gun you got off ebay looks the same as the one I bought from Amazon way back when I first started spraying, mine was called a ORAZIO 0.5MM and cost £12.99 I bought it on the 5th August 2019 first gun I ever bought, I started spraying enamel paint through it and it was horrible stuff so I moved over to cellulose which was better then about 18 months ago I started using 2K paint so built my workshop to do it in.

Hi John, i wouldn't sell ya Devilbiss's yet mate, i don't think these things last to long. I only did it because it was interesting to see what it's like and if you could do a reasonable job with it which you can, also, it's all fair and well using guns that cost £500 but the chap with a family etc are often excluded due to cost so as with you it's a starting point. I really didn't enjoy using it, it feels cheap and not rewarding compared to a better quality spraygun but it shows people you can get one and do a job with it and it's got to be better than spray cans, cheers mate 👍

Thanks for doing this Pete! I have my eye on an LPH80 for cycle frame painting but the budget means that has to wait a bit, so i was considering something cheaper just to get started. Unfortunately the ANI GF3 isnt readily available here in the states that I can find, so shipping doubles the cost to here! Your vid lets me know that for the first few bikes one of these cheap guns might not be a bad starting point, and i can upgrade as i go! Helpful as always!
@peteshobbies53833 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, yes, that was the idea of the video really, i know people have varying budgets, i do buy my own stuff so appreciate everything costs and also a lot of people just can't justify a big outlay for whatever reason. I was quite surprised by this gun, I'm sure it's not going to last long but as you say, it will get you going and the small fan is ideal for bike frames, cheers buddy 👍
@Seenoevil1113 жыл бұрын
I started painting my bikes with this same gun! Actually the small fan was perfect for bike frames and because the gun was so cheap, I didn't really care if it broke down after a handful of uses (and it did!). Buy it, experiment with your painting and move onto a better gun., you won't regret doing it that way.

My first practice was with such gun and small 24L (4cfm) compressor. It was ok for thin primer/base/clear and survived ~30 cycles until I bought something better. The perfect way to set the pressure: when the pattern is like O - increase, when 8 decrease, when 0 perfect 🙂 This little thing was the best 10usd invested (aliexpress) 🙂

Funny how instructions, which comes with this gun, says minimum pressure 2.5 bar and maximum 3.5 bar. And like yourself, I found it only does a good job at around 2.0 bar. Mine is 0.8.

Hi mate, you find that a lot with the cheaper Chinese products. The spec has little relevance in reality, cheers, buddy 👍
@ev-olution859712 күн бұрын
@@peteshobbies5383 Yes, they probably nicked user instructions from some other brand :) Today I did some experimenting with this spray gun. I noticed if I increase pressure, paint flow starts pulsing, so the spray pattern is very uneven. I undone the cap just to see if it helps. And indeed it stopped pulsing. So my guess is, hole in the cup is too small. Not sure if your spray gun has same pulsing issue with higher pressure. But if it does, try spraying with cap slightly undone. Higher pressure made the clear coat super smooth.
