Been to Thailand last month and remember checking this video before going. At that time, found these details to be quite helpful. But the reality is FAR from what has been shared in the video. I want to address this to anyone who is going to Thailand that these costs are the lowest possible options that are suggested. Anyone who wants to travel from India to an international destination would want to experience the culture and take part in activities there. The hostel/ accommodation costs mentioned here are from online websites and I am not sure the blogger himself has stayed at these places. When traveling, one would want to take a hostel that is close to the city centre that would help them go around the places easily, and one might not be comfortable staying in mixed dorms. Second thing is the flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. This flight cost included only hand baggage and any additional baggage needs to be paid for, separately. I love the details this channel puts out and find it quite reliable. A suggestion from my end to this channel would be that next time they do a cost itinerary- they should keep it more realistic as not every traveler can hitchhike from one place to another and mostly all travellers like a comfortable stay (not saying anything extraordinary) and spend decent amount of money on food and experiences. I hope you take this review in the correct light as this was written with the best intentions.

Hi, I am from Pakistan and watch and admire your show regularly. This episode about Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai is fantastic, because not many people cover these areas of Thailand and the common people of India and Pakistan , know Thailand for all the wrong reasons.They have a perception that "Thailand means Bangkok only "(especially the night life) which is not true. Thailand is a great country and if you are a serious minded traveler and want to enjoy nature in the purest form, it has so much to offer, I don't know the reason but the natives of Chiang Rai pronounce it as Chiang lie. Your vlogs are always very informative and entertaining, and above all, you have a very pleasing personality and the way you describe each and every detail of that place is a quality which is not common these days. I think now, you should promote your name, because where ever you go people immediately recognise your face but they do not remember your name. I have been watching your channel for quite some time but I don't remember your name, so please pay attention to this issue.

I have been to Chiang Mai twice and have to say it is my favourite city in Thailand. I mean after the bustling experiences of Bangkok, Chiang Mai is like heaven of calmness. Also, you will hardly come across other indian travellers here as we are mostly limited to Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket zone. Consider it as a blessing. No wonder, it is rated as one of the world's most beautiful city. Also, as a Tai Ahom from Assam, 🇮🇳 I can't help but relate with North Thailand than any other place in Asia. We share a lot.

I have been in Chiang Rai once back in 2012 under official tour sponsored by Thai embassy. Visited Mae Sai big border Market also. And Stayed in Lahu Hilltribe community village homestay under Mae Fa loung district. Very beautiful places and nice experience.

From the video it seems you had a great trip and amazing adventures. Its so nice to see this offbeat Thailand. Yes, people generally visit Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya as arrange by the different Tour and Travel companies( we did the same) . This northern part of Thailand is so very beautiful. My expenses for 2 weeks including flight, room with ac and bath(airbnb), food(street food and 7/11), travel(bts/mrt/grab), even going to Koi(club) was 30k, i eat only twice daily and no alcohol and no hookrs. But now flights itself would be 18k(without baggage)+ airbnb 14k(min for same amentities), 6k for food, travel 4k.

i feel lucky to have done this in Jan 2019 itself on my way to crossing land border to Laos and doing the 3 day boat ride. Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Pai are the 3 most recommended visits in Northern Thailand. while there are many other towns to cover, even 1 month is less to explore them all..

Many years back Kolkata Durga Puja had one pandal modelled after Chiang Rai white temple. But because it was a temple in Chiang Rai most people didn't know where it is as upto then indians went to the usual Bangkok Phuket krabi. The pandal was made perfectly as the puja committee people of deshapriya park puja went to Thailand to study the architecture.. it was the busiest Puja in 2017 by footfall. After that huge number of people went to northern Thailand from Kolkata to see that. This temple I want to see too. Thank you Varun sir .. planning already
