That's how I clean my sterling silver chains. One time I put washing powder and dawn...it literally turned my chains a gold color. Thought I fucked em up until I put em in a silver cleaning solution

Invest in a portable household pressure steam cleaner. Inexpensive and has multiple uses. Won't scratch your jewelry.

Works like charm and once a year I get mine polished to get out any light scratches since I don’t take my chain off

No no no. Not circular motion! If, and, when it makes micro scratches, they will be more visible. Like when hand washing a car, keep it linear

the Platinum dawn spray* works fantastic. you don't even have to scrub place to chain on your hand spray the dawn and rinse with hot water.

Easiest thing to do is take a shower with it and wipe it down with the towel. It’s always cleans.

This is how I do my cleaning, but I take it one step further and my bracelets and rings get cleaned w dish soap (I purposely put my rings on prior to the shower just for cleaning if I feel they need it)
