About the same time this video was recorded I stayed at caballo, I only signed up for a weeks stay because of the weather, it was sunny, but the wind & cold air was disturbing. When it warmed & the wind died down some daily, I decided to pay for a years stay, but was told that they had a rule that you had to be self contained or you couldn't stay there. They have two buildings with toilets & showers, two dump sites for waste, & a fresh water supply outlet. I have 21 gallons of fresh water, a 1800 watt jackery solar generator with 400 watts of solar panel, & a 1800 watt gas generator for electrical backup. I met many people there who went out of their way to make me feel welcome & wanted & needed, but was turned away because I didn't have a holding tank for black & gray water. I was very disappointed after traveling 1400 miles for the experience.

Our Board if Supervisors won’t allow these types of developments because land prices here are insanely high-they want maximum $$ to fund their pensions. A community like this should exist in every town. We ate sorely lacking in affordable housing for seniors on limited incomes. Thanks for featuring Jim and his wife and their beautifully maintained park. ❤️

That is so true. I live in a RV community that was started when my city was a outlying area with dirt roads. Now the prices for property are going crazy so another community like this will never be built. The city council would love to have this property and rezone it for commercial to get the big tax dollars.

I'm on disability after working my ass off for 40yrs but as a single mother w/no $ from baby daddy I was unable to save so now I'm living in my 2008 travel trailer which I dint mind and my rent is pretty cheap ($325+elec) but with fuel prices etc I'm starting to worry how long what I have stashed will last. At 62 it's a scary thought. I really need to be there 😁. It dies look like a REALLY old school community !!

This RV Ranch is like the old days where neighbors were not so near, but nearby. I like the terraced hillsides this park offers. Good walkability with some easy to moderate dirt roads for a morning or early evening hike, or to visit on a friend. And having the retired nurse living in the community of desert dwellers is of good assurance to know valuable medical advice is available if needed. I hope this ranch stays the way it is for years to come. I think it will if this owner has anything to do about it.

Just FYI, there are new emergency housing vouchers (EHV) Section 8 vouchers available right now for homeless, even in big cities where the Section 8 waiting lists are closed - homeless can get one now. HUD made 70,000 of these EHV available right now and only 13,000 or so have been given away so far, since last year. The housing authorities and social service agencies are still trying to figure it out, so they aren't going really fast at this point, plus, people just don't know about them. Could be an even cheaper option for some people who can't even afford this nice place. For what it's worth, thought I'd let people know. In case some van dwellers are needing a regular apartment due to health, etc.

@@happycook6737 yes it is. They also just sent out an email to all residents saying they're also increasing the electricity portion of our rent as well. Don't get me wrong, it's still way more affordable than an apartment or house, but still don't like the increases. For some reason, my park has changed ownership about every 18 months. It's a great park and great community with awesome amenities. I just don't know why it keeps being sold. Every time is sells, the new owners raise rates

I'm 45 and would love to be part of something like this. When Bob did the initial show on CBL I felt I could've ditched current life and went and lived there forever. Now they've got a fired dept, any plans to add more in respect to safety, health &/or convenience? I'm a massage therapist & very much into natural healthcare, herbs, tropicals, etc & love to help people. Doing so in a community would be wonderful. Just a thought! Also have a passion for education when it comes to history & law 💗. Cooking, arts, restoration, gardening, and crafts also amazing. Michelle is a retired nurse!?! Awesome! Jim, I'm with you Bob, knowing he is the real deal (just like you too)! I would love to help out here. I gave up being beholden to gov a couple years ago & do most by way of trade & barter. I nap when I want to, so I may be up at 4am or 10am, just take life as it comes. I have an old dog who is as sweet as they come & we both LOVE people! Would we fit in? 😊

Hi Bob! I've only been watching your videos a few month but I'm hooked! I've actually been dreaming of taking off and traveling the country for years. Unfortunately, health issues and having to go on Social Security have changed things a bit. I still want to and I'm ready. The problem is finding a tiny camper of some kind that would be easy for an amputee to get into and move around in easily. A teardrop would be one idea. I was hoping you might have other suggestions. The other problem is funds to buy one, so it would have to be cheap and light as my current SUV, while very nice, has a low tow capacity. I really want to get started and hopefully join a caravan so I can learn the ropes. I have done a LOT of camping throughout my life. Growing up in a large family that's what we did. My Dad loved to fish, and I do as well. Then my ex and I camped together with our kids and a few other families. I was also a Scout mom so did a lot with the Boy Scouts. So I'm not a newby to camping, just doing it full time. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I probably have some tips I could share with a caravan as well. Thanks, Bob!
