There is no cheating, no mistress, no wife, but there is a scheming woman and her mother. Through a series of misunderstandings and malicious plot from the other woman, the ML behaves atrociously towards his ex-girlfriend. It didn't help that the FL's relative had a hand in this. He loved and hated her because he believed she betrayed him. What he did to her at their engagement party was awful and unforgivable.
