Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Tom managed to get 'inflictinflict death' to work at around 24:34. The enemies have the skull icons and get oneshot by using their dice. I think he just got confused, but who can blame him? That looked like a mess of an ability to read trough.

Yes, it inflicts death to the target, so adding it to an attack causes the enemy to die next time it attacks. But, as we saw, Tom put the death mark on the cure heal, which would've caused his own kitties to kill themself with their attacks - BUT because it had cute, it removed the debuf right away.

I agree, it is very hard to follow, especially with all the jump cuts since we cannot easily track the events. Further, the 'Inflict Inflict ' is a confusing ability. Simply put, where one 'inflict' delays the keyword by one action, 'inflict inflict' delays it by two. What *really* happened is that Tom first, at 24:38, used Housecat #3's attack on the top enemy, triggering the 'inflictinflictdeath' keyword on that enemy. This means the 2x.Basalt now has the 'inflictdeath' keyword on all its die sides, which is not harmful to the enemy, but when used to attack Tom, will give the attacked character the 'death' keyword on all their sides, causing them to kill themselves, should they use their die. Essentially, Tom buffed the enemies by attacking them. HOWEVER, to further confuse matters, Tom then attacked with Housecat #2, which has the Telescope item equipped, causing it to gain the keywords of the top enemy's die, thereby effectively giving Housecat #2's attack 'inflictdeath' for the turn, meaning those affected by *its* attack (the 2x.Basalt and 2x.Lich, since the attack has cleave) will receive the 'death' keyword, meaning they will kill themselves on their attack. This puts us in the state that you referred to, where the enemies are indicated to die on their next attack. It would be much better for Tom to have the 'inflictinflictdeath' on a heal or shield ability, so he can target his own characters, thus giving them the 'inflict death' effect, meaning they will then cause enemies to kill themselves. As someone else mentioned, the reason it didn't work for Housecat #1's quad healing ability is because it has cleanse, and since the 'inflictinflictdeath' is (somewhat confusingly) treated as a debuff, the cleanse immediately removed the effect. A regular heal/shield/other non-cleanse buff would work like how Tom thought it did. But again, very hard to keep track of all this!

@@veskupa The ability is inflictinflictdeath, it adds inflictdeath to all the person's sides. inflictdeath causes the person's hit sides to gain death. So if you want to apply death to enemy's sides you have to inflict inflictdeath on one of your allies, then have them inflict death on the enemy. It only worked at 24:34 due to spy shenanigans as explained by someone else.

The inflict inflict death didn't work on the cats heal because it had cleanse and inflict death is a debuff in the game. If it were a regular heal or shield it would have worked like you wanted it to.

When you attack/support with InflictInflictDeath, you add InflictDeath to the target's sides. When a character/enemy uses one of these modified sides, they die. At around 24 minutes, the two bosses died from this. Tom missed it, probably because of the confusion of the entire situation. It's such a fustercluck that Cleanse was also in the mix and prevent Tom's cats from deathing themselves, and him from realising what's going on

There are shortcuts: 1, 2, 3 etc. for hero dice and q, w, e etc. for spells

I actually took that once too, and it can be quite good IF YOU HAVE CLEANSING to get rid of the petrification. Which is going to be fairly likely on most teams, but not this one!

@@KanadasKid I thought so too when I took it, but no, petrification is permanent until cleared. Very nasty. That's why Tom was so scared of his powerful wizard boi getting petrified.

So check 24:39 you have inflicted death to two sides of their dice and you can see the skull and them glowing red. Then when they have used the ability they both died

@@Scnottaken Yeah, I think Tom should have refused the level up there because he had just unlocked an effectively infinite mana combo. I think holding onto the older character would have allowed him to live long enough to find another random character with better sides.

21:26 so correct me if I'm wrong. You have a dice with cantrip 26 rerolls (practically infinite rerolls). You get an item to make highest side cantrip. This is 27 mana. Every time you roll you have 1/6 to gain big mana, and you can roll near infinitely. Infinite mana. Tom: ignores the skip button

I think what must have happened in that last fight is Spy overwriting and locking in the cat's keywords, so it could have InflictDeath added.

They didn't, Tom just chose a thing which gave all enemies - 2 hp +1 pip to all sides. The ghosts have 6 hp and get their invulnerability on their 5th pip!

@@gameypotato7596 wait I thought ghosts got invulnerable after 3 damage. Maybe this is a to difference between the mobile and desktop version. I exclusively bought it on phone so it might be that.....or my phone version is just really out of date which it could also be.

I think it’s because Tom took the curse where the enemies have 2 less health but deal more damage. The trigger for ghost invulnerability is their first HP, but it was removed by the curse
