It was okay when he gave his daughter and cheating ex wife a job, but paying off the AP’s IRS debt just to be nice to the man that destroyed his life and stole his entire family? The woman in this story are a lost cause. First , if she wanted a divorce she should have done that before cheating don’t give be that “we fell in love” bs she let it happen, she didn’t respect him at all . Yes the guy is a scumbag what else do you call a man who seduces a married woman. They definitely stayed for the money. They don’t regret anything that much is clear, they act like they have the moral high ground trying to reach out to him after every thing they’ve done however all they want is to ease there conscience. "Hes a nice man, he doesn't yell like you do" ... He never yelled or did anything until all the backstabbing betrayed guy. He didn't really yell at the kid, he was sarcastic. He certainly yelled at his ex during her uh 'nice discussion' about 'falling in love' with a nice rich guy and how it all went down and how he got custody screwed. The fall out between the daughter and his fall out is a direct* result of the wives actions and her daughters 'thoughts' on it. She (daughter) never properly apologizes until shes 17 basically. Even then its not great. She comes across as is stated condescending. She didn't even know* she was talking down. She loved her father, but didn't seem to really understand until she lost all that lovely glitz. (Even if she says it doesn't matter - so it was just icing on her cake) Not sure why the AP was forgiven or the ex. I see no reason for it. The daughter sure the else wise? no. Not only no but hell no. Sorry I can easily see moving past a grudge. I can see eventually working things out with his daughter. But the rest no. Even the #2nd Wives actions wouldn't have been taken well by a man with that kind of past either. She just.. did it without his real consent. She gave them a fuck ton of money again noting no consent. This is fantasy and even in most fantasy that would have involved a long..discussion.

Hi. From the comments, it's pretty obvious that the general consensus is that the ending sucked. I, however, found it to be a good ending. As they say, living well is the best revenge, which our protagonist achieved. Plus, although he didn't forget, he did more or less forgive, which showed true strength of character. All in all, I think this was a 👍👍 story.
