One thing that never came up during their 'conversation' at the end: Sally wanted Phil to forgive her because it was 'only' 3-4 times a year. Which is true. HOWEVER... She never stopped to consider that Phil saw John and Craig EVERY TIME he went to the club. Phil spent TWO YEARS getting laughed at by the 2 guys who were sleeping with his wife. And how many others had they bragged about it to?

This story is a bit long-winded. "What's Love Got to Do with It?" Marriage is a contract based on respect and trust. No need to ever trust a cheater. Just show them the door.

I feel sorry for those vets who must be in their 70's when talking about vietnam etc., That being said - the cheaters would have been disabled, hog tied (secured), then tortured for the information. There would not have been a loose arm or leg on any of them. His "gathering" of information would have been more complete. A warrior remembers his training. It was good to have him discuss a battle plan - would be better to show the logistical process of target, acquisition, recon, and then going "green". The take aways - do not take goodness, kindness, or caring for granted - because some "monsters" can snap that switch.

In a few weeks, I will be 66. I missed Vietnam thankfully, but served in the US Air Force from 1975 to 1980. I guess I have more memories of the guys from WW2 and Korea. I remember many conversations with these men (and one lady). One day was at a State Park and the subject went to a famous WW2 battle in the Pacific. This man was a Marine and saw extensive action and I think had 3 Oak Leafs on his purple heart. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder and his son asked me to be quiet. The man stopped talking and just gazed into the nearby water. This happened almost 50 years after WW2 ended. My Father was part of the Heartbreak Ridge Battle in Korea. He told me in the space of about a week he lost his Commanding Officer, Company Top Kick as well as his Platoon Sgt and many friends. While I agree with your last sentence I rather say it this way! " Don't confuse a gentle easy-going human with being weak." To do so might not end well for you!

I was trained by those Vietnam vets in the 80s and I'm 61 now still in good shape and can still pass a PT test.... I train still, and try to keep that other guy under lock and key, however some folks over the years made the mistake of judging me by my size and regretted ever knowing me or starting something they couldn't finish ... my oath still stands and I follow the constitution and try to get along with axxholios that push their luck and get checked

Yeah, very long story. I found a few blatant historical lies or misrepresentations. As a USMC Viet Vet with 42 months incountry, all of it in I Corps, there were no Army personnel in I Corps other than a few “office pogues” in Da Nang that worked for the General Staff at MACV Headquarters. Since Viet Nam was broken into 6 separate “Corps” and I Corps, (Roman numeral I), Marines in the northernmost I Corps, with ANZAC’s and ROC’s in II Corps separating us Marines from the army personnel. ANZAC = Army of New Zealand and Australia Corps and ROC = Royal Korean Marines. There was a helicopter unit, The Black Cats, that flew out of Da Nang that did dustoffs, (Med Evacs), when we were hurting badly, but that was it.

OP shouldn’t have left the master bedroom for the basement (he did nothing wrong) or lied to the kids. The kids will find out eventually (if the didn’t see it already) and possibly resent him for it; plus it gives the ex a chance to spin the narrative (AGAIN) to make him the bad guy.

I can confirm a lot of the background of this story. I was in I corps in 1970, the Marines were winding down and the 101st was taking over U.S. operations at Camp Eagle north of Phu Bi; and south of Huế. . Firebase Ripcord is something I will remember until I'm dust, Assuming this story is true, those two scumballs got off a lot easier with the OP than they would have with me. I still have my K bar.

The thing of PTSD is when you get diverted from the trauma with a situation like this your obstructing it with a form of protection much like your troops your spouse and kids are the troops if a threat comes in and breaks that bond you revert back and the anger and discipline comes out twice fold compressed.good things he had the discipline to hold back to think and no gun otherwise there'd be four bodies not two casualties.i wouldn't have the power to refrain
