My GF told me about a wife who used latex gloves and collected some poison ivy and put it in the dryer with all her cheating husband's underwear after she washed the entire drawer. It was only "a mistake" because she realized she risked everything for not much of a payout. She didn't get her world rocked like she expected from the AP. Remember, at the beginning of the story, she announced this was supposed to be the beginning of a regular thing. If AP had been as impressive as she had expected, not entirely sure she'd have been all that broken up about the divorce. Only after she realized she traded down on so many levels did she decide her deliberate choice was "a mistake".
