(9 Dec 1994) Chechnya, ringed by Moscow's troops, released seven more
Russian prisoners in Grozny on Thursday night (8/12) while the
Kremlin played a waiting game with the rebel region. The release
followed talks between the president of the breakaway republic,
Dzhokhar Dudayev, and Colonel Ivan Chizh, who headed a Russian
delegation to Chechnya.
