I trust the spinning test over the float test because when golf balls are hit, they are spinning not floating.

This video demonstrates that the Spin Equator is different to the Float Centre. I've spun 24 golf balls and then floated them. 2 had a float centre on the spin equator. most had a float centre within 10mm of the equator and 1-2 were further out. None were at the poles. The two are related,but not the same. I think the ball which spins and floats around the same mark would be the most well balanced.

No that would be the one that is bottom heavy the one that keeps going to a different area every time is the balanced ball

Great video. I was going to buy a Check-go after using salt water to check the balance ( a bit of a hassle) but I reckon accurate. This shows that the Check-go is inaccurate. I saved a bit of money.

Based on this, one could argue with equal validity that the salt-water-float test is the problematic one. In fact, the two methods measure different properties. The float test finds the axis on which the center of buoyancy lies; the spin balance test finds the axis upon which the center of gravity lies. The two methods will give different results for balls that are not perfectly spherical. Which is more important? Seems to me both are important. Those balls that appear to give ambiguous results with both methods are probably the more perfect for golf. See also Colin Williams' comments.

I've been playing golf for 40-something years and yet I'm still amazed at the things I've learned. Since "discovering" the balanced ball method about five years ago, I dedicated myself to daily, 5+ hour practice sessions. Today, I'm a 4-handicap--three strokes worse than when I started--but my wife has noticed that I can draw a line straighter than ever!! **two thumbs up**

I think you did not spin the Check-go until the light went off causing the ball to not be balanced

The light doesn't go off, it just stops flashing. i have noticed balls still aligning themselves after this period, so look closely before making your balls.

Yes, and later after a round of golf I re spun the same golf balls to see if the alignment had changed and it had.

It seems to me that the water test is not as valid as when ball is actually spinning as its hit by a golf club not stationary as in the water test.
