I own and still ride the very same SuSi Evo 2013 frameset, combined with a mechanical dura ace 9000 11-fold shifting set and rim brakes, a Rotor 3D+ crankset with P2M powermeter, Ritchey parts (seatpost, stem, steerer) and a Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbonio Flow saddle. That bike is my "trusted companion", which I was (more or less successfully) riding in many national and international competitions. The latest competition was the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Trento a couple of weeeks ago, and again the SuSi Evo carried me safely along the hilly course, including descents with speeds up to 92 km/h. Uphill, the stiffness and the low total weight of the bike (just above the UCI limit) allowed me to stay with the best climbing specialists of my age group, and in the final technical downhill and short flat section towards the finish, I was able to ride away from the two remaining opponents and to secure a WC title with a 9 year-old bike underneath. I also own and ride a Trek Madone 9 equipped with a later R9100 dura ace groupset, but especially in the mountains or for trainings, I still prefer the less complicated SuSi Evo.

Nice Review. I have a 2014 SuperSix EVO Race Edition with the Ultegra group and upgraded to Mavic Ksyrium Pro wheels. It's an absolutely amazing bicycle! I think it is still very competitive with current models. AND...it has rim brakes!

David, coming back to this video as I just purchased a 2013 SSE HiMod. My quandary is that I may have gone too big on the frame size. I'm 6'1" with a 35.5" inseam on a 58cm. But you at 5'11" on the 56cm makes me think that the 56cm would be too small! Love all of your videos by the way. I default to typing "David Arthur" before anything on KZbin when looking for cycling insight. Thanks!

Hi David, thank for your informative video! I'm considering getting the 2018 model, would you recommend? I'm absolutely in love with the Supersix Evo but since it's a lot of money for me I want to be sure that it's the right bike to get.

Hey David! Hope this finds you well. A new rider (in the road bike world) and trust me i've been stressing myself researching for the most optimal/entry level bike. From Trek/Specialized, heck i even went as far to look into BMC; none of which grasped me as the SuperSix Evo 105 (at first I was eyeing the CAAD13). I live in a more city like environment and worry the stock 25c wheel wouldn't be as effective or safe as a 28-30. So my question is do you know up to what wheel clearance it would have If i'm able to put in 28 or 30. If yes, what wheel set do you recommend? I don't know the year of the SuperSix i'm looking at but the color way is Sage Grey with Red lettering. Cheers!

hi David, do you have a references on the shape of "down tube" ? I mean in the SupersixEvo down tube frame there is round shape and some of it not circle shape, especially on SuperSIX Evo Himod model...

Just retired the same bike after almost 10 seasons of riding. Tested rided a few $10k "superbikes". Nothing felt as smooth as the Evo. Ended up with a used 2019 team version.

Hey David, nice looking SuperSix! What kind of conical spacer do you have on your bike? I've been trying to get in a lower position on my CAAD10, problem is that I can't find a conical spacer lower 15mm.
@davidarthur6 жыл бұрын
It came with the frameset, I'm sure you should be able to get one for your CAAD10. In fact, here's a 5mm spacer qwertycycles.co.uk/products/cannondale-supersix-5mm-headset-top-cap-kp253

No, newer models and certainly the 2020 redesigned model have internal cable routing. This bike dates back to 2011 - a lot has changed since then
