Brilliant idea on the motion sensor. If you can give them feedback, a receptacle near here or the door would be great to put a night light so if you had to get out in an emergency, you can see the door handle. I’m going to add a battery tap light in my Jayco.

The solar plug on the side will be great because if you are camping, many times it may shade the roof panels? If so, you could put a cord on the portable panels to put them out of the shade and into the sun.

The plug on the side is essentially a heavy gauge wire directly connected to the battery, you will still need to have a solar panel and a solar controller to use the plug. It is nice as you can add a little more juice if you are in the shade.

I wish they would just publish the add on cost of the mastervolt system somewher, and maybe they do, I just don’t know where to find it. If you have any links to them, please share. I’ll also check your links. You guys being an owner of this camper, you do a much better video than many of the dealers do. One of the better descriptions I’ve ever seen, thanks

I know that the MSRP of the power package is around $11,000. I believe there is a tax credit available when purchasing and installing aftermarket, check out ABC Upfitters in Indiana, If you call talk to Scott. I am not sure about the tax credit for factory installation. I appreciate the kind comments; we enjoy sharing what we have learned with others.

Now that these Solar generators are getting so good, I’m thinking it makes more sense to just get one of those? Maybe having the solar on the roof would be all you need? Somehow fix the solar to plug the power station into. I’m, buying an Oupes Titan 5 when it launches. Around 5,000 wh of battery, 4,000 continuous power, 7,000 surge. Special launch price with coupon, $2,499.00, will go to $3,200 ish. I didn’t price it but 5x200 watt portable panels may add $1,500 tops. So $4,000 all in and it is portable, no added weight to camper. Any thoughts?

Not sure about integrating a portable system with the RV, I hate to have you waste your money. I like how with the Mastervolt system everything works including the air conditioning. Another thing I wanted to mention is that the Mastervolt System now comes from the factory with a DC-to-DC charge controller. The neat thing about that is if you are in an area with little to no sun exposure, you simply plug your tow vehicle into the system (separate power cable) and can quickly charge your 460 Amp Hr. battery. The other thing is that the system communicates with all the components and regulates what it is doing. There is no risk of overworking it and causing a problem. The price I quoted was retail, I would call Scott at ABC Upfitters [phone] www.abcmktginc.com/mastervolt they can share more about the system's capabilities. with that info try to negotiate a better price from a dealer if you plan on ordering a new RV or better yet have ABC Upfitters install the system, they are the pros who build the system for Rockwood/ Flagstaff. Also, I know that there is a federal tax credit if you install the system aftermarket. Best of Luck!

I keep looking at all the new stuff that Forest River is putting in such as electronics, remote control panels, but the more complicated it gets the more expensive it gets to fix I somehow like my ordinary rocker switch buttons that move my slides through the hydraulic motors

Nice review. Fantastic power package! We got a 2205S last year, and love it. Actually like the kitchen layout better in ours, and especially the electric fireplace up off the ground with several more shelves. Agree about the digital thermostat. How tough would that be? Questions: was the fridge on when you checked the operating time of the A/C on 12 volt? I'd think running both of them would drain the battery pretty quickly, especially at night or on a cloudy day. Also, has Rockwood increased the number of inverter-powered outlets on this one? Thanks!

The fridge was on when I had the A/C on during my little test. On a sunny day with A/c on It would be interesting to see how long the battery would last. Maybe someone with the system will chime in.. Thanks for watching!

The master control in the bedroom is not a bad idea because if you are in bed, you would have to get up and go somewhere else each time to adjust. During the day, no problem to go there to adjust it. It would have been better if at eye level but can’t have everything, lol

I bought the 2024 model with the power package! The upgrades were very nice. I am shocked how few people can actually tell me how to properly care for the power package. I am sure it is in the manual if I dig. Thinking about taking the power package decals off. They seem to scream steal my expensive Lithium Ion battery! However, Rockwood made sure it would be tough to steal. Anyone have thoughts on battery care? Should I remove power package decal? It feels like bragging, in a way....but it might open up conversation also. Thanks for the post!

Congratulations on the purchase! The power package opens up so many opportunities for Harvest Host Stops/ boondocking without the need for a generator. If you haven’t already done so there is a power package owners group on Facebook. I would join that group. Also, you can always call ABC Upfitters in Elkhart, Indiana. As a tech guy, the power system is interesting. But, I’ve read somewhere you can only run the AC for about 2 or 3 hours before it drains the battery. For my money I still think the basic solar package with a nice generator is still the best package for off grid camping.

Valid comment about the AC, That was one of my concerns as well. What’s cool about this system is you can use a small Honda 2200 generator and set the Mastervolt to only pull 5-10 amps or so if it’s cloudy to recharge the system. They also have a DC to DC charger that hooks up to your truck to charge the system when driving or on cloudy days. It a neat system. Appreciate you watching & commenting.

Thanks for the review, I personally like the old floor plan better, I think you had better usable counter space as well as the fireplace placement being better as far as Aesthetics, I think they should have given more usable counterspace instead of chopping it up the way they did and thinning it out . Still a great RV , just my personal opinion.

ABC Upfitters worked with Mastervolt and RW to design the Power Package. They have the ability to install Mastervolt systems in just about any trailer. They're also happy to answer any questions you have related to the system.

@@thescottherman I was going to buy a used 2509s and have ABC Uplifters do the retrofit. They recommended I buy a unit with Mastervolt installed from the factory so that's what I did. I love it! Never need to unload the refrigerator after a trip. I have had a bag of ice in the freezer since April.

I love this model (planning on getting one), but as a health professional, I would not want all those electronics directly under the mattress. The batteries can be there, but I'd locate the electronics somewhere other than the bedroom. I know it's best to keep the cable runs short between the battery bank and the electronics, but for health reasons, I'd run some thick cables from the battery bank to elsewhere.

Unfortunately there isn’t anywhere else to house the electronics in the 2205s.

@@TNTRVing I'll be putting mine under the kitchen sink. Yes, this will require some large diameter cables from the battery bank, but, safety first. I've also heard of people putting a thin layer of lead sheeting under their mattress (encased in plastic of course). That is another option. There are always options when you think outside of the box. :)
