You need to clean those connections and put something on them to stop corrosion reoccurring. Every crappy connection costs you current. And have you thought about mounting the panels on the outriggers? In and significant wind you must struggle with them up there acting like a big sail.

Pretty awesome. I thought of something similar back in the day, I wanted to split in two jet ski inboard impellers two throttles forward and reverse capable. Bobcat meets jet ski makes canoe. Throttles look like and function as carry handles. You can spin on a dime with dual intake and exhaust. It look funny because you'd have pretty advanced controls but you would look like you're flying by the seat of you pants. Wrist twistings handles, arms resting by your sides. Lazy comfy capable

Pretty awesome. For zombies flexible panels are good. For longevity needs ro be glass panels. If you did an update some bifacial panels could improve the output. Though youd lose some of the sun protection. The boat is great though. I like those articulating pontoons.

I’m just going out on a limb here, but in the bow of that boat, you could literally fit two one and a half horsepower motors that if barrel together and rotation set properly, you can create more energy than you use I would recommend Dayton motors, but they would continuously create all the power you would ever need, including charging the battery that you would have to set up an inverter to fire it up from the lithium battery, but once running, you would have infinite power without all those panels on top. Also install a flywheel for anytime I have a charge hits which probably won’t be a you running off the lithium battery which is constantly being charged Neat build keep up the good work Also, it does work engine the engine one and a half horsepower motors. People will tell you it doesn’t but it will. We have come along way in the last 20 years on electric motor efficiency.

There was a recent study that showed that panels angled up (like a sail) will allow for more heat to escape and thus for more electricity to be produced. Excessive Heat = energy loss. It's that fine line of finding the balance. kinda like sailing

Jamie would a PWM be more efficient motor control with infinite speed?
@MattsAwesomeStuff6 ай бұрын
Jaimie hates electronics because they can break. PWM is much more efficient yes, but most of the time he's just traveling at max speed anyways, and nothing is more efficient than a mechanical switch. The speed control is just for docking, which is like 1/10,000th of his drive time. Not worth it.

BTW, any numbers? like, how fast, at what wattage? lastly, as ingenious as the linkage on the pontoons is, you should do the same with your steering. foolproof.

hello Jaimie, long time viewer. Have you ever considered making a boat, that you could visit the states with ? many people seem to be converting ocean going catamarans to solar, with no mast. The reason i ask, is because i think it would be good content. You really don't need it. you have everything you need there. (well it sure looks that way from here) i enjoy your channel. i like learning other ways to do things. the way you approach things, by solving them with what you have, is really an old technique, that serves you well. i think a big project is really what your channel needs. And by the way, please don't cut up the zombie chopper, just make another boat. and always have fun, be the best dad you can. keep up the good work.
