I've been a subscriber for about a year and this is the first time in memory that I have loved a floorplan. The open L shaped kitchen and living room plus spacious bedroom is exactly what I have been looking for. I wanted a shorter unit but maybe this 35'er is what it takes to get a comfortable living space.

Nice review thanks! That is a nice rig! I really like the bedroom and double fireplaces! Why don’t all RVs have a fireplace?! The things I’d change... some good day/night shades, no vents in the middle of the floor, and extra cabinets above the sofa and dinette! I’m still conflicted on the solid-steps... they are nice and sturdy but you have to open the door all the way, pull them down and adjust them to even get in! Also if they aren’t clean when you fold them up you dump water, dirt, etc inside!

Awesome trailer. I would love to see a series on your recommendations for half-ton towable bunk houses. Quad cab (4 door) have had to become a jack of all trades (family car, truck, tow vehicle, and more). Families buy them as a family car and want to be available to tow family trailers with them.

Impressed with this stick and tin unit. The color tones are more cozy and inviting in this. It looks like a lot of thought went into the interior design, and it really shows. Just wish the bathroom had a porcelain sink and toilet instead. I am not a fan of that plastic stuff they had in there.

To all half ton owners, do your research before you buy. Something like this is plenty capable of being towed by various new half tons on the market. It’s misleading for you to say this cannot be towed by a half ton truck, when new half tons these days have towing capacities ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 pounds. You have everything from a 4 cylinder to a v8 being put in half tons now. They have very differing towing capacities.
@ShortyG7244 жыл бұрын
There are new half tons on the market now that can tow more than 5-10 year old 3/4 tons. So generalizing “half tons and 3/4 tons” and determine whether or not they are capable of towing something for someone can set them up for failure. There is such thing as having too much truck for what you need
@hunter136054 жыл бұрын
I agree. Most half tons are more than capable of towing a lot of the travel trailers you show. I love your channel and videos but hate that you make half ton owners feel that their trucks aren’t capable of anything more than fetching groceries

Exactly. I have a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 EcoDiesel and is rated to haul 10k pounds. It hauls my 7500 pound travel trailer like a champ when my previous 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 V8 Hemi struggled a bit. :-)

I love the coachman brand… And I am considering full-time “destination” RV. As a complete newbie it is an overwhelming learning curve so my questions tend to be many.(Bear with me LOL!) I too am not a fan of the television not facing at least ONE seating area & I know there are many that do, but in this case is the television on A swivel/pull out assembly or is it fixed to the wall? Secondly, can furniture be moved to facilitate comfortable TV viewing, or is it fixed to the floor? Lastly just out of curiosity would anyone know if there is such a thing as a company that would pick up and move your TT to a different location for you perhaps once or twice per year? I do not want to tell you or do I want to buy a truck for that purpose seeing as I will be stationary for 6 or more months per year. I am in my mid-60s (which I will continue to say until I’m at least 80… LOL! ) because I intend to stay in my mid-60s physically and emotionally 😂 and I want these golden years to be as carefree as possible. Thanks for any advice you seasoned pros have to offer! 🥰

I really like watching your videos and would really like the chance to ask you what you think about my set up I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with air bags on the rear. I pull a 2019 forest river xlr boost 29qbs. It’s 36’ 10” from the ball to the back bumper and has a gvwr of 11,414lbs. The question I have is about my hitch setup. I don’t like the hitch that I bought with the toy hauler it is a recurve r3 hutch and when I bought it I really like the idea of how it works and the design seemed like it would work fine. It doesn’t do terrible but it is a pain to actually hook up and the brackets that are mounted to the frame will not stay in the vertical position they move around all the time and I’ve tried to torque them and adjust them with no luck. Also the other problem is my trailer is very very tongue heavy when I don’t have my sxs in the garage I got it to be able to haul the sxs but I don’t haul it every single time I go camping. The big problem I have it when I don’t have anything loaded in the back of the camper I need the hitch to be adjusted so that it puts more force on the spring bars. When it is loaded I don’t need it to have as much pressure on the load bars and so far I haven’t been able to find an easy way to be able to adjust the hitch not have I found one that has an easier way to adjust it. Just curious on your thoughts as to what would be the best solution. Thank you and keep making great videos
@johnclark30674 жыл бұрын
I had a similar setup as yours and the only advice I can give you is load your heaviest items (tool boxes, etc.) just behind the back axle. My tongue weighed almost 1300 lbs empty. GVWR was 13k. I used a Reese 17k weight distribution hitch with optional anti-sway cam style system. I played around with where heavier things were but it generally towed very well for such a massive trailer.

Who has the best priced four seasons trailers and tow behind ?
@scdbrown4 жыл бұрын
JD.. would love your advice..downsizing from 34’ 7k pounds dry.. wife really likes a 30.5 total length 5675# dry TT..my F150 is rated at 8500# and I have Roadmaster active suspension and 10 ply tires.. and equalizer 4 point weight distribution...we pack really light and we travel with all tanks empty..We probably would be under 6300 pounds total weight on the new trailer… In your opinion, is this downsizing enough?
@BigTruckBigRV4 жыл бұрын
Without knowing all the details, that sounds reasonable. Again, the other variables are how much experience you have towing, weather conditions, weight in the truck cab and bed, as well as the PM on the truck and trailer.
@scdbrown4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your response.. the TT we are considering is the Apex 279rlss..primarily because it’s the only TT we can find that has sofa, recliners and a dinette at under 6k lbs UVW..
@crazyman31574 жыл бұрын
Steve Brown, I would say you should be safe. Personally I am at the same point and almost the same set up as you. I have a half ton as well. I shoot for the 6k weight as far as trailer weight goes, even with a 8500lb rating I am like you and stay under 6,500 lbs. and 30 feet max. I have been towing for 15 years here in Michigan.

This is a really weird looking Chicago autoshow booth, almost looks like an open sky above. This trailer would actually be perfect for a 3/4 ton or a titan xd. The reason I say the xd is because it has the weight, suspension and axle of a 3/4 ton but just not the engine (which is why the tow rating is so much lower than other 3/4 tons)
@johnmills8374 жыл бұрын
Payload capacity of the XD needs to be over 2,000lbs. if you haul passengers and cargo in the bed.
@james20424 жыл бұрын
@@johnmills837 I don't know about the diesel (which I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole) but for the gassers the payload is rated at 2490 or there about. And within the titan xd community its basically known the truck is underrated, the suspension, tires, brakes and axles handle over 3k with ease

When the slides are out and you're stationary, would it not make more sense to put the sofa in front of the tv? You would still have plenty of room to walk around it to the kitchen area or table. Is there an obvious reason I'm missing as to why they don't do this? Otherwise, it's a decent lay out 😊
