Just picked these up, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up the head and saw that they use a couple o rings and a good sized pawl. I usually lean toward standard metal handle ratchets but I have to say Capri knocked it out the park with this ones.

Completely agree. Ya I love how well it's sealed and how good it all fits and feels.

I have these previous Capri models, (2) 3/8 flex head and 3/8 model, use them professionally to work on bikes and never had an issue. I dropped one the flex heads in motor oil, wiped it off and still works great.

these ratchets are awesome, love the way they feel and look. I really wish they also came in that satin look, i really dig my satin ratcheting wrenches from capri.

I would score these way above gearwrench. They have sealed heads. Buttery smooth, very comfortable

As a beginner tech capri is my go to tool brand I have alot of capri tools and love them all love my 1/2 inch flex head. Now ilk have to get this set

I wish they would have kept the goat head logo on the ratchet head. That direction switch is a dead ringer for the direction switch on the Die Hard flex head ratchets. On the Capri website, they show a long handled comfort grip ratchet in one of the photos. perhaps we'll see that in the future. The handle looks to be on the large side. Thanks for sharing.
@cucolopez1942 Жыл бұрын
Yeah the goat logo is BA, you are right about selector switch being the same as the diehards. I own the diehards and have been pretty happy with them if these are the same I'm sure there will be no disappointment
@draffa5798 Жыл бұрын
It looks like a good set of ratchets. I'll probably wait for them to make a flex head ratchet set with the comfort grip though.
@TonyTheTechnician Жыл бұрын
Not a bad idea. Hopefully we see those soon 👍

Yep exactly like the diehard flex head ratchet. Well we can definitely demand a flex head version now.

Haha right. Same here. I keep telling myself I have plenty. Then I keep buying more

The handle looks very similar to Carlyle Tools comfort grip. But has that cut out like on the gearwrench.

That would be a good video if you did a comparison of the Capri vs the tekton 90 tooth ratchets.I know handles are subjective so I be interested in your opinion on the ratchet heads and if you have a preference between the two.

As of right now I don't see any rebuild kits or anything like that so I'm sure if anything happens they would just send a new ratchet.

Has there been a try-lobe handle ever on a soft grip ratchet? I.E wera screwdriver handle 👍🏻. Thanks Dain✌🏻. They feel very comfortable in the hand
@TonyTheTechnician Жыл бұрын
Not that I'm aware of. If any are tri lobe they are probably very suble tri lobe designs because while tri lobe can be very comfortable for turning fasteners with a screwdriver they are very comfortable to push and pull on. Thats why alot are round or rectangular.
@christopherminelli7593 Жыл бұрын
Are these sourced from the same firm / factory as Advance Auto's Die Hard ratchets? They came out with some comfort grip 90 tooth ratchets and they look similar. Not a bad deal if you are in the market for them.
@TonyTheTechnician Жыл бұрын
Not sure if they are or not. I don't have the diehard set and haven't really looked into then.
@ViperMods_216 Жыл бұрын
Pretty sure they killed tekton on the grip
@TonyTheTechnician Жыл бұрын
I really enjoy both grips, but I think it was smart of Capri to keep the more standard round grip since that is what most people are looking for.
@WHATDATTOOLDO Жыл бұрын
Is apex making these for Capri? That selector looks just like diehard and the faceplate looks similar to the new 120xp and diehard ratchets
@ChevyBlazerBoy Жыл бұрын
Is there an oring around the anvil too or just one to seal the outside edge of the plate?
@JohnCorbet-w4g3 ай бұрын
Mine have o-rings around the cover plate, anvil, and selector switch
@victorhoyt4352 Жыл бұрын
I literally just bought those and got them 6 days after they dropped. They were a huge letdown, and I sent them right back. It's sad that their 72 tooth version is superior to the 90 tooth. The handles were extremely bulky, the beam and the head were very bulky too, and the ratcheting mechanism was not smooth. I like their 72 tooth flex head ratchets, but these were just a no-go for me. Have you noticed any excessive mushrooming on the drive side of capri impact sockets Tony? The capri impact sockets seem a little soft to me, especially compared to sunex. What are your thoughts on how the capris are holding up compared to your other sets? What's the wear pattern on the capris? Do you notice any extra softness with their impact sockets?
@JohnCorbet-w4g3 ай бұрын
I've had my capri stubby sockets for a couple of years, no mushrooming. I'm surprised u didn't like the CP90'S someone must have forgot the orings or lube. The ones i have are very smooth, sealed and beautiful. I got the long handles tho. And i have put alot of torque on them with no issues. Sorry to hear yours had issues. I'm sure they would send u another set

Anyone have a recommendation for high tooth count flex head wrenches? Found a frustrating starter bolt in Lincoln 3.9L, could only get 1 click out of standard gearwrench ratcheting wrench.

I probably missed it, but what did you pay for them? On Amazon Canada they run at 269$CAD🤣 at that price point they are not going to be what I’ll consider. I’ll prefer look for used Snap On or even the GW 90 or 120xp
@jinpark5324 Жыл бұрын
US Amazon has Capri set for $99. I think under $70 for the set is more reasonable to me.

No they are kind of similar but definitely not the same. Different lengths, thickness, backing plates, reverse switch, handle. We will look more into the differences when we tear them both down and compare them 👍
@JohnCorbet-w4g3 ай бұрын
Definitely not gearwrench. These have a solid coverplate. They are identical internally to the Milwaukee ratchets. The selector switch is different and not as much metal in the head and handle. Smooth internally just like u would expect from Milwaukee but these are much lighter. Sometimes I don't use my Milwaukee ratchets just because they are so heavy
