This is the loft of D and R Carter of Suffolk. Midweek Racing has started, It makes my loft look like a potting shed. Lol

Hi I am new to pigeon racing and was just wondering if I need to keep young and old birds separate and if so where should I put my breeding bird do I need 3 lofts or can they all live in one
@jmayes363 жыл бұрын
Just keep your numbers down and have 1 loft with 3 sections ,1 for young birds ,1 for boxs for breeding which you keep the stock in. And the 3rd for old birds. Top tip the less birds you keep ,the better you can look after them. Good luck

Thanks this is helpful and one more thing I was wondering was can you race mated birds in the same race
@jmayes363 жыл бұрын
@@theflatcapsailor yes nothing stopping you but. It best to have one home so as the other is happy when it gets home. Racing is 20% fitness 80% motivation.

Hi , Nice loft and birds! Do you have any problems with neighbours? I want to build myself a loft about the same as this one on the video . Do I need to ask council, neighbours before Thanks in advance if you could advise me
@jmayes363 жыл бұрын
Hi . This is not my loft. I’ve never ask the neighbours or the council. You need may need to check if you are renting the property, make sure you can walk around the loft and that it’s 1 meter in from the property boundary also I’m sure you must make sure it’s no higher than 13 feet high. I have found that it’s best not to speak to the neighbours,if you don’t talk you can’t argue with them.

@@jmayes36 wow , thank you sir for the quick response! I am renting property atm but hopefully will get a mortgage house in the near future. I will have Racing Pigeons and will race them. SO, no point in building a loft on rented houses because I think they will be considered pets and I sign the contract that I don't have any pets... you never know, I have seen on Google lots of people complaining about their neighbours having pigeons and don't want that happening. Thank you very much , I will subscribe you

@@liviumititelu7397 you will not be able o have birds at a rented property. Get your house first then your pigeons.👍

Hi I'm wanting to start racing how do I do it I don't know much just my grandad had them all he's life so I want to do it for him to
@jmayes36 Жыл бұрын
Have a look around your area and find someone who keeps pigeons, just go round and knock on his or her door. Most people would love you show you around and happy to help you out . It’s a good time of year to get started because it’s breeding season . You can start with young birds and you are off.
