Sometimes packing in a carry-on only is not possible. This video will show you how I pack things like foam rollers, yoga mats and hats and still get all my clothes and keep the bag under 50 lbs!

I took a obnoxiously huge floppy (not packable) beach hat to Punta Cana and I rolled my clothes around it for support and put my bras and underwear in the crown. Worked great!

Thank you for another great video! One thing I take if I’m taking a checked bag is an inflatable pillow for bed to elevate my upper body or legs. I can’t sleep flat and have been spoiled by my adjustable memory foam bed at home. The inflatables pack flat and help me sleep on any bed. Found on Amazon, of course.

Excellent! I like the packing cubes also. I usually stick extra sunglasses with the hats. Depending on adventure, I take thicker socks in my hikers and a trekking pole. But I like your organization and learned some good tips. Thanks take care and be safe

I use the shower caps to cover bottom of my shoes to keep the rest of my things protected from the dirt on them. I get them from hotels or buy in dollar store. You need ti do that since you are placing your shoes inside the bag specially in your tote.

This is another terrific video, with more great ideas. I prefer to pack light and carry on only, but have checked in the past as well. That Level 8 suitcase is awesome! Love the color (your favorite!) - so pretty and visible when coming down the carousel. It looks so stable. The last thing you need is a tippy suitcase, especially when you stack a back on top. You truly travel in style! The bulkiest thing I travel with is my pillow! I have an old latex foam pillow, which keeps me from getting a sore neck while I'm away from home. I have a compression cube and can fold it down pretty small, considering that it's a standard size pillow. When I leave it at home, I remind myself again that it's just not worth it. A good night's sleep is priceless!

Very useful video again! My "problem" items aren't particularly bulky but can be a challenge if I want to bring a lot of this. I visit the US normally at least once a year and see many American friends and for one event I attend I like to bring enough British/European snacks and chocolate so there's enough for most people to have some. Packing these so they don't get damaged can be a challenge but if they do get damaged, it's not too critical as they still taste fine! It's not something I have to do or have to bring loads so the planning for this isn't critical.

I completely understand! And the Japanese culture it is always tradition to bring a small gift to someone’s house. Whether it’s chocolates or a little trinket it’s always nice to have just a little something.. of course, those little somethings do add up and can’t take up quite a bit of space in your luggage. However, once you hand out all of your little gifts, it’ll give you room to pack some things to bring home from your adventure.😊🙏❤️

Another fabulous video! I have never seen a foam roller that folds flat! That is a game changer to save all of that space. I travel with a back brace, rollator (walker with a seat) and a cane. I have not tried to check any of those items before, but usually wear or hold on to them until I get on the airplane. The cane folds up when not in use and they usually take the walker from me and return it when we land. I have an umbrella that is the tall walking stick shape, and I like it because it is sturdy and doesn't fall apart in the wind like the little collapsible ones. I haven't traveled with it before because I am afraid they wont let me take it. Do you ever take umbrellas when you travel?

Hi LG! That is a lot to travel with! Yes I do travel with an umbrella most of the time unless I look at the weather and I know it’s not going to rain at all but I sometimes use an umbrella even when it’s not raining to protect me from the sun. So the answer is yes I do usually carry a compact umbrella.

I also have packed socks inside the hat and other clothing around and under the brim to keep its shape. I only do carry on bag, I am able to pack a hat and extra shoes in my bag. For people who pack a lot in a check in bag, it’s a good video.

Yeah, In have to pack a checked bag because i carry a knife, pepper spray and multi tool. Plus my tripod is too large for a carry on. Thanks for the feedback!

My packing cells don't have tags, but what I do is stick a strip of painters masking tape on each one and write on it what is inside, eg Lingerie and socks, Warm tops, Lighter layers, Dinner outfit, swimsuits and wraps, Nightwear and slippers, Toiletries and brush. Saves opening each to see what is inside. After my trip I can easily peel off the masking tape.

Lol… I said in another comment that my husband and I are going to the UK for our 31st wedding anniversary and his birthday… One thing I wanted to ask you about… We really want to try to put everything we are going to be wearing and using in Carry-on bags, but I have had a couple of friends tell me that I should bring a checked bag and fill it with bubble wrap because I will be purchasing things from the UK trip! What are your thoughts on that? And we will be flying with a nice airline; what are the odds these days about losing checked luggage?

Hi Lisa, I pretty much always travel with a checked bag. I’ve had problems a few times where they have lost my luggage for four days and they were nice airlines. I think if you can get away with just a carry-on that’s great however, if you’re going to be purchasing some items as souvenirs to bring home, you have a couple of options.. 1. Pack a small bag with in your luggage that lays nice and flat at the bottom of your luggage that you can take out to put clothing into or souvenirs into and bring them back.. 2. Pack a suitcase with clothing that you may wear, but are willing to donate to a charity at your destination so that leaves you some space to bring home souvenirs. 3. You can also ship your souvenirs back via mail, although that might be expensive. I would say that millions of people fly every day and most get their luggage so I’m not that concerned about losing my luggage. However, you’ll notice that I do pack strategically in my personal bag but I have enough stuff to get me through a few days if they lose my luggage and it’s pretty ironic that you’re asking me this cause I’m actually making a winter packing video right now explaining how I do that and it should be out by this weekend.

Then we have the other two to fill with things we might buy - we mostly go in winter so sometimes end up with bulky coats, for example

Depends, usually at least 4 weeks. But depends on what I am doing on my trip, if I will be staying a one place or moving every few days. If I am staying in one place as my home base, I will bring the 28”. If I am moving around from place to place every few days I will not bring it.

Can you take pepper spray on international flights?

@@sandraduncan3903 I do not take pepper spray with me. First, while you would definitely not put that in your carry-on as it’s considered a weapon and will be confiscated at airport security and number two because it’s pressurized they may not even allow it in your check luggage, but it depends on the airline, but the other reason is because in many countries it’s illegal to carry spray. For example, you cannot carry pepper spray in great Britain. As a matter fact, in certain countries, you can’t even bring a blade or any kind of a tool that has a knife so always do your research before heading into a region to make sure that what you’re bringing in is legal for you to have.. 😊
