You could send some of the rain our way, we have only had about .2" since mid-June, and as you can guess, the dryland corn is hurting. We also have some milo that's hurting too. Also the pastures need it bad.

Spiders, no thanks! I'm with ya. Had an exterminator once who said that even he could not ever get used to them. Congrats on almost 100k!

KZbinr and Facebook personality 'Farm Babe' was a victim of that tornado in Iowa. Thankfully there were no serious injury or lost of life although their farm did sustain considerable damage.

I heard you say that you unplugged stuff in the house. My parents used to do the same thing when I was young. I asked them last year why they did it and who unplugs the stuff if a storm comes around when they are not home. They have not unplugged anything since. I am curious as to why you unplug the items?

A boot drier is a great investment! I love mine! It's quiet and will have both boots dry pretty quick! I get miserable w cold or wet feet.

This clip reminds me of the time I had to replace a broken off fence post,,,of course the heifers got through and all over the hill....Anyway it ended up being a big colony of those big black carpenter ants. I still remember putting in a new post with a big sledgehammer and then feeling biting up inside my pant legs. Yep those are dirty rotten pests from hell...hahaha!

McGregor had the tornado, across from Prairie Du Chein. Damn, this was before the additional rain we had on Friday when Potosi & Cassville really flooded bad and some people lost their homes. 08 flooding was the worst I remember until what I saw from a photo my Dad posted and what I saw after the rain on Saturday. Did you get any damage from Friday night-Saturday morning rains?

Might be time to get a boot dryer. lol
@lukestrawwalker7 жыл бұрын
Hair dryer works just as good and they're dirt cheap... I guess if you really wanted to go fancy, you could make a contraption out of some 1.5-2 inch PVC pipe with a stand and an inlet for the hair dryer, with a couple of pipes sticking up "T'd" together with some 90 degree elbows on the top, to invert the boots on so it blows air down into the toe of the boot and back out the tops... Later! OL J R :)

Flip flops offer your feet no protection and leave you more vulnerable to broken ankles on uneven ground, something you don't want in this situation.

Why are you using barb wire here? Barb wire will catch grass and branches and the water flow will pull out your posts, more so than plain wire. Three men and two ATVs to knock in one steel post that may not have come out at all if you had been using plain, not barb wire!
