Would you prefer to adjust so both ball joints are square? Or adjust to make both wheels square while including the caster differences?

on a OEM stub I would like to get the offset from crossmember to balljoint the same . 1st . If you are on a OEM spindle the caster doesnt change the the wheel base much less then 3/16 in 6 degrees of change where caster changes the wheelbase more is in a 2 inch or more drop spindle because the pin is up more vs a OEM where the pin is so close to the ball joint boss .

This man has great stuff and also has great information back in the day lots of people never focused on car geometry and it is the most important part of creating a good handling race car. In my opinion it starts in the front and you make the rear work to it.

Just noticed with the ball joint plumb bob locator, that it is not in the actual line of the pivot of the locator. We should just make the adjustment on the tape, for the offset? Seems reasonable, to be able to calculate the the actual roll center accurately. As always, keep up the awesome work, and fantastic tools.

If you are doing roll center you are correct . What Im doing to checking the offset of the ball joint location from left to right side of the lower a arms . we are seeing up to 3/4 difference in ball joint placement . This way way we know forsure the wheel placement is thanks Dave
