Checking the Crankshaft on an Engine that Suffered a Prop Strike!

In this video, we're checking the crankshaft runout on an engine that suffered a prop strike. We hope to use this engine in a future project plane.

Please correct me if this is in error, but in addition to checking the runout for the prop mounting surface I was under the impression that the crankshaft needs to be checked for cracks after a prop strike or sudden stop. I was informed that the case hardening on the crankshaft is about .050" or so and that a prop strike can fracture that case hardening around the nose of the crankshaft leaving a weak point and the possibility of total fracture some time later.
