I thought we were the only ones to take our cat with us caravanning, becoming a problem particularly last Summer when we were in the Scottish Highlands when the cat decided to go feral the night before we were due to leave and disappeared for another two days causing a lot of problems.

No you should be able to run the heating without water, we have a Truma Combi and you can with that, assume in the Lunar you have the Whale system and I'm sure it's the same with that.

So I can tell my mum (when I stay with her) where I am because I go wandering on my own and to phone in work if I'm going to be late.

Tanya, You should be able to have your heating on without hot water, could you not have got a local caravan engineer to have a look at you water problem.

Mine has been booked solid for months. I assumed you needed hot water for the heating system. Is that not the case?

@@TravellingBox you are correct on our Caravan If the heater is switched on when empty of water, the thermal cut out device will trip. Best not to run it you might trip the main relay on the outside Hook up box. We carry a little 400w portable electric oil radiator in the Van its great when we are on a site with a poor power supply at peak holiday times.
