Cheech and Chong dropped by the neighborhood to speak with Big Boy about their classic stoner-comedy movies, the perks of getting older, and how they originally met. Cheech Marin explains that their comedy began as a stage act, the story behind the duo’s name, and remembers scenes from movies like “Up in Smoke”, “Things Are Tough All Over”, “Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie”, and “Still Smokin”. Tommy Chong speaks on running strip clubs in Canada, going to jail over a water-pipe, and getting fired from Motown Records. I came of age in the very late 80’s and the 90’s and weed and drugs were very taboo. The weed and youth/drug culture was still very much steeped in 70’s era Cheech and Chong tropes but seriously frowned on by the establishment and parents. It was weird suddenly all the kids were in Dead, Zeppelin, and Floyd shirts. This was after Metallica and GNR first got big but before their big 1991 releases and grunge. I do remember Black Crowes and Jane’s Addiction being big.

Amazing interview, the movie you're quoting from is Things Are Tough All Over (1982). It was Up In Smoke, then Next Movie, then Nice Dreams, then Tough All Over, then Still Smokin'. Corsican Brothers was their last feature.
