I've wanted to buy a taba squishy but the fact that you have to keep it in the bag ruins it for me. I love textures and stuff but the bag will make it so that I can't feel the texture of the squishy, only the plastic bag.

i think another reason they say to keep it in the bag is that some of the squishies that have flock (the fuzzy stuff) is bad to breathe in especially for ppl with asthma.

@imcool6238 Nope, people sell fibre glass and that’s bad to breathe in AND touch. But it’s specifically warned how to use it, so the consumer will be safe. If they tell you to not take it out of the bag with a warning, you’ll be ok.

I watched something recently about those specific squishys !! it’s preferred for them to be in the bag while squishing it to avoid getting dirty and damaged because it’s super sticky on the outside so dust and such could easily get on the squishy (it would also be hard to clean from what I’ve seen because of how sticky it is)

the reason why they're still in bags and are recommended to be in bags is because they are produced with a very sticky material that can stick to your hands for a long time, which includes bring exposed to germs that will tarnish the colour and quality of the squishies very easily. On xiaohongshu there are plenty of videos on how they make it, and they all use gloves to prevent the excessive sticking.

I think the oils and other additives run the risk of being toxic to touch or kids/pets trying to eat, or causing allergic reactions if I'm not mistaken? Also I imagine the oils can stain and ruin surfaces. I've had this staining problem with mochi squishies personally. 😢 Similarly they collect dust but I imagine worse. So I keep vicariously watching others playing with them because of these reasons and the prices... but that pufferfish and candy lamb is everythinggg 😍💸

Here is why the recommend to play it in the bag! Because it can get easily dirty and it’s kinda easy to fall on the ground (i think) because one girl had a pink paw tab squishy at my school and I asked her “Why is your tab squishy dirty?” Her: “it’s because a girl dropped it on the bark” So that’s why I hope that helps!
