heard this first in 2013, must have heard it at least 50 times in that year. I had some classical training then, but not much. Started learning classical music again in 2015, discovered Raag Jog in 2017. Heard this song again sometime later, and voila! Raag Jog comes through. The realization was thrilling! Love this fusion. Ustad Rashid Khan has since been my go-to performer to listen to the first time I learn of a raag. The harkat in the middle and a slight smile after that, that is the essence of classical music. Love the expressions of Salimji, the grateful and joyous smile as he sings with Ustadji. To his credit, he has created a lovely fusion. I want more of this and less of today's bollywood songs. Love Salim Sulaiman and Pranaam to Ustadji.

Well yes, in such fusions, the artists do take a few liberties to enhance the effect, instead of strictly abiding to every rule of the raag, which may be why there are hints of the essences of other raags. But that is the beauty of it! And who better to perform it than the great ustad rashid Khan!
