I'm not a cheerleader and cheerleading isn't really a thing in my country but I don't understand how people can say it's not a sport. That looks pretty athletic to me.

I think it's because there's two kinds of cheerleading. At our school we've got both the athletic one with stunting and what so ever and where they just move their Pom Pom. The second one somehow belongs to the marching band and they're just standing in front of the band

RubyOpheliaQuinn Yes, gymnastic is sport. Even CHESS is a sport! I don't know either why. But I ever ask some of them the same questions and they answer the same thing just like what I did in the above. If only cheerleading doesn't really depend on how sexy the outfit they wear or how most of the girls are actually there just for visual (even in huge team like Top Gun lately, the girls are mostly for visual).
