Who's watching CHEERS in 2025?!? 🍺🥜
@jnorway72954 жыл бұрын
We just read that the original Cheers bar in Boston will be closing very soon ☹. People will be watching these episodes again, reminiscing fun times in the 1980's! In 1984 I went there to see it, as a fan of the show...walked down the steps...into the small, dark, very different looking interior than on the TV show...and while in there I half expected to hear people call out, "Norm!" to men coming in the door! 😄

@@jnorway7295 hmmm🤔 that’s weird I was in Boston 92’ and Cheers was on the Corner and you actually went up 3 or 4 steps to walk into cheers and it was just wall to wall people and 90% of the people there were just buying a t-shirt... Definitely didn’t walk down any stairs to get into the bar...

@@hubes96 Clue #1 - ''the original Cheers bar will be {closing very soon}'' Clue #2 - ''In {1984} I went there to see it'' Clue #3 - ''walked {down the steps}'' If the original Cheers was closing very soon {in 1984} how the hell did you expect it to be there is 1992? That's 8 years later. Was math a shortcoming for you, or was logic your burn?

There was one where the Cheers gang, including Norm, all went to a bowling alley. The walked into the lounge there and everybody yells, "NORM !!!" The Cheers gang looks puzzled, and Norm says, "Hey, I've got a life."

Why is it that EVERY Cheers character's 'Funny moments' ends up being dominated by Diane? [my least favourite character!]
@rohunsaigal25763 жыл бұрын
Because Diane is the moral epicenter of the show. She was the only one that didn't want Norm to cheat on his wife in S2 for example. Without her, the show loses its soul
@thesoultwins723 жыл бұрын
@@rohunsaigal2576 .......Nonsense! WTF are you talking about - the 'moral epicenter of the show'??? She is an interfering nobody who thinks she is much smarter than she really is. [and this is often exposed - making her look stupid]. More importantly, this is an 'ensemble' piece - like a Shakespearian tragedy, each character has a part to play. If you took any of them out [Norm, Cliff, Woody, Rita etc] would the show be the same? NO!! In fact, the very essence of the piece IS because of all the different characters. Diane spoils this is in my opinion because she dominates EVERY scene. This damages the overall effect and makes her character the focus of the show. [we may never know but perhaps this was written into Shelley Long's contract?] I MUCH preferred 'Cheers' when Shelley Long left and was replaced by 'Rebecca'. And IF [as you bizarrely claim] Diane was the 'moral epicenter' of ''Cheers'' - why did they allow her to leave and not replace her part with just another actress?
@justplainbrad77133 жыл бұрын
@@thesoultwins72 {"She is an interfering nobody who thinks she is much smarter than she really is"}...That sounds really familiar. Oh yes, it describes "you", to-a-T. "[and this is often exposed - making her look stupid]"...much like your obnoxious post, insulting another in a condescending manner, and sounding much like Diane, who, in that motherly tone, admonished Sam endlessly. One thing that continues to amaze me...how, when someone doesn't like something about another person, they always point of the other person's faults, perfectly, yet never notice that they actually share the same faults, abundantly. My professor said, "when we see our flaws in others, it's so upsetting, that we attack them, while completely overlooking our own weaknesses. We inwardly hate that side of ourselves so badly, that it remains hidden from the conscious mind, and the revulsion we feel towards our dark side, manifests into an overt attempt to crucify others for reasons we never seem to figure out. All we know is, we hate it". Basically, self-loathing. Time for psychoanalysis Gemini, and as your element is air, it is quite apropo, as 'hot air' is an abundant commodity for you. [One more thing...the likelihood here, is that you are Diane are kindred spirits. Two bodies, two sexes, sharing the same brain]
