Born in Sept. 1960 I am 10 months older than Woody Harrelson. What fun to see in this show again. Brings back so many memories of back home in NYC which back then was as lovely as Boston.

I have always liked Woody, for his honesty and his pureness. Was it forty years ago or something? I even liked Woody when he was in Three Billboard Outside Ebbing, Missouri. (2017) He grew fat and old, but the sparkle in his eyes is still there. You only have to wait for it to get a real funny remark.

I was still going to the bars when this came out. Everything they did was similar to what went on in the bars I frequented!
@John-ct9zs
@John-ct9zs 8 ай бұрын
Really? Where bars really like this in the 80s? I was alive but way too young to be at a bar at the time, I mean, growing up in the 80s and first half of the 90s, I used to think if bars and pubs are just like Cheers, they must be the greatest places on Earth where you meet friends for life. Then towards the later 90s and 2000s I started to frequent bars and pubs and found out it's nothing like the fantasy of the Cheers TV show. I never saw a group of "white collar after work" regular crowd that showed up. Yes I've gone to a bar after work, but it's hardly like Cheers. It's rare to see anyone walk in dressed in a suit and tie, especially after 7pm when the 20 something party crowd shows up. Sometimes a woman has a dress on, but rarely. Usually, people are more dressed in a formal casual way, jeans and dress shirt, or sometimes in recent years just showing up in tracksuit and/or pajamas. I am sure someone will tell me they know a bar similar to Cheers, but all the ones I went to have regular barflies that are toxic people, more scummy folks. Cheers made me think that pubs were frequented by people over 35 on a regular basis, and yes you will find that group every now and then, but it's mostly a young young singles crowd instead of a Cliff Clavin or Norm Peterson. Three's Company's Regal Beagle had a more accurate, true to life bar than Cheers did that's true for the 80s and today, yes Mr. Furley or Mr. Roper could show up, but someone over age 35 or over 40 usually stuck out, and people dressed casually nice instead of walking in with a suit and tie on.
@justdoingitjim7095

@@John-ct9zs Lots of the corner bars in Baltimore that were in the residential areas were like Cheers, except most patrons were blue collar workers. There was a bar near downtown Dallas that had a lots of office workers come in with their suits and dresses still on. These were small bars like Cheers. The larger clubs had a younger crowd that dressed casual. Rural bars had lots of regulars, but most were older or retired people. Then you had bars with ranchers, farmers, working hands that wore what they worked in. There's all different kinds, but you had to be a regular to get to know people like they did in Cheers!

Claim check number nine. Soooo funny! When Nicholas Colasanto passed away I was devastated. I was never going to appreciate his fill in. I was never going to like Woody. Over time, I had to face the fact that this was another great character. Woody was a great character played by a great actor. I don't believe that any person with a decent sense of humor could not appreciate Woody Harrelson. But Coach was the guy who led the league in HBP two years in a row, who specialized in getting hit; "I'm on my way to first" I don't believe that any person with a decent sense of humor could not appreciate Woody Harrelson. But Coach. This was the guy who picked up the phone, and called out to the whole bar, "Is there an Ernie Pantusso here?", "That's you coach". "Speaking" But he also was the one who treated his character with such grace when daughter tries to tell him she isn't pretty. If memories keep our treasured friends alive, Nicholas Colasanto is alive and well in my house.

Back in olden times, all we had was one cup between us. And we were glad of it! When the cup actually had something in it...that was a real good day! When the cup became empty, one of us would get to put on the one pair of shoes that we had between us, and walk up to the pond to refill it. And if it was the wrong time of year, and our one pair of shoes was busted, we'd have to walk in our bare feet. In the winter that was a little rough. And we'd have to chop a hole in the ice in the pond to get our cup of water. If we only had one good shoe, we'd hop on one foot all the way there and back. And like as not, we'd spill the water, and have to hop back and start over. Life was rough back in the one cup days! Sometimes there would be bears! I still have nightmares about having to fight the bears. And also not spill the water. 😂

I'm Norwegian and I find it cozy, sweet. I wish I was 20 back then. Life now is horrible seriously.

I remember wondering why this show was on the air as a kid, 30 year later I realize it wasn't even remotely funny

It has its moments. Its too old and Ted Danson is not very funny except his ridiculous lady-hairstyle. Reminds me of when people older than me talk about Peter Sellers being so funny, boooooringggggg! Leslie Nielsen, Charlie Sheen, Kevin James, those are the real funny guys for guys my age.

I wonder why you're still around after being a humorless prick for the last 30 years.

@@pflaffik you really are a sad, immature little person if you can't appreciate classic comedy because it's "too old" are you twelve years old? Lol

Then why are you even here? And that's your silly opinion. It's clearly funny to the millions of people who watched it then and now.
