1:42 - It looked more like the platform had detached from Mario's legs at the same time as he was about to jump. As a result, the animation of the jump was interrupted and Mario "fell" on the platform because, according to the game, at the time of the jump he was already in the air. It also happened to me a few times most often when I wanted to jump on the very edge of such platforms. This happened rarely but still extremely irritating. Edit: But on the other hand (watching this part a second time) it seems that your character actually kicked in the air. If you haven't pressed anything and your controller isn't damaged, it's just glitch.

for yours (1:32) i wouldent be suprised if it just happened you entered into the water at the same time as you started your ab kick. now i am not a speedrunner but i do enjoy playing with glitches and weird mechanics and if you hit the water it will teleport you to the top of it. i do not know if it happens while in a place you could stand or if you do have to go swimming tho. on 4:01 the game will kill you if you are smushed under somthing unable to move for a long enough time. this is to prevent softlocking yourself and happens often in chaos edition.and at 5:41 i beleve this happens if you catch a bowser in mid air after you threw him off.

I am pretty sure the invis wall was the floating platforms hitbox bumping up into mario and making the shortest jump ever. This will bring you to a compleete stop if mario hits the ground in this fassion as it literally destoroys your momentum. Escentally its like you tried to do an extra jump in your movments but you never got any rising or falling momentum to add to your speed. Instead it all got ate up by the floating platform bouncing back into marios hitbot.

Haven't ran SM64 myself personally but I do like the runs, but was the part at 1:04 after mario falls a backup strat by clipping through the floor or was that also something strange (since Cheese was just rubbing his eyes at that moment and he didn't notice?)

I just started running SM64 so I can unveil my 5+min of potential time save. It can only be guaranteed, by the truly demented of SM64 speedrunners. All and all that first BLJ is a bad word so I can see why he was slamming his “already dead” controller against the living one to transfer further controller DSD memory’s Eheheehe! All in all I totes understand! I’m putting together a video further explaining stated above, it’s gonna take a little time but I hope the community can one day bust 120 sub 1:20:00 Eheheehe! I’m not the best in terms of speed by no means my expertise is more so in memory manipulation but there isn’t a whole lot of that I’ve been able to figure out with SM64 memory manip. Still need more time. But I’m the mean time I think I should cap this off by paying further homage too Ditman. Thanks Ditman, you allowed me to make SuperMario 64 Faster somehow o7
