Controlling Rage in SM64 can be really hard, I used to be one of those people that got super angry with every mistake, over time I've strayed from that though. What you said about long romhack stars is definitely true for some of them lol, sucks to lose like 5 minutes to one death.

when ur really high level, every second counts. seconds can add up really quickly if you're not careful. and believe me i love speedrunning, but if you keep losing runs in early game, it can get very jarring very fast. breaking shit is definitely still overkill, but i also understand the anger ya feel?

Raging and m64 in the same video makes me think of something you could try ! I don't know if you're aware but someone made a "chaos" version of mario 64 in which random things occur in a fixed period of time. It can be mild or very chaotic depending on the settings you put and there's a lot of different "event" that can happen to spice things up / make you rage. Since you're so good at Mario 64 , I wondered how you'd do with something you know very well sprinkled in randomness ! ( very different from kaizo if you wonder )

cheese talking about what you would do if you choke on bowser throws at the end of a really good/wr run is a feeling i am familiar with... but i don't get mad! i think it's funny. it's the ultimate reminder of what i am doing, the activity i am participating in. speedruns are fucking SILLY, so when something like a mistake at the final boss kills the run, it's like the most silly a speedrun can be and i am able to really enjoy that in the moment like i am a spectator of myself. it is kinda disheartening sometimes though. the motivation to keep going after a run like that can really take a hit but that's why the main reason i run is because i love the game i'm running with or without the speed.
