The Kweli cheetah family take down a big impala and feast well until a hyena arrives and pushes them away. realisong only one hyena was around, the cheetah family stay close and keep testing the patience of the hyena. Eventually more impala arrive ad start alarm calling, the hyena has enough and moves off with just one leg and the cheetah family return to their meal. Other hyenas were attracted by the noise of the impala herd and again the cheetah family is pushed off, this time for good. The hyenas and jackals clean up what is left.

About Rob The Ranger Wildlife Videos:
The purpose of the channel is to show what it is like to experience seeing wild animals on an African safari. Nature Documentaries are often highly edited to tell a story, wildlife safaris are not, and the idea here is to show the wildlife sightings the way they were seen. Safari tours in Africa are generally suitable for all ages and this channel can be considered an educational channel about incredible nature, some scenes in the nature videos may be more graphic than people are used to but this is the reality of nature and is what you would see if you were present on such a safari in person. Safaris in Kenya, South Africa, or any other African country are an unrivalled experience for anyone with a passion for nature, wildlife photography, and travel. Hopefully the animal videos on this channel can provide a glimpse into what the nature experience is like and encourage more people to take a wildlife safari one day. Mother Cheetah with 3 grown cubs = Miracle. Among Africa's large feline species, mother cheetahs face the greatest challenges in raising their cubs. Unlike lions, which live in prides, or leopards, which are adept climbers, cheetah mothers struggle to climb trees and prefer a solitary lifestyle. Despite these limitations, it is not unusual to come across a mother cheetah with her five fully grown cubs. Leopards, unlike Cheetahs, rarely have more than one fully grown cub with the mother.

At least hyenas don’t kill cheetahs although they can easily kill them. They just steal their food. Lions kill cheetahs even if food was not involved

Interesting that cheetahs can eat vigorously with no conflict, while lions and hyenas can't help squabbling.
@alexf9381

Cheetahs don't have the privilege to squabble. That's why they don't. They know how little time they have to eat before a larger predator comes and takes their kill.

If vehicles were only around where there was food for them to take over then maybe you would have a point, however there are vehicles all over the place looking at all kinds of sights, it would be a waste of energy for any animals to follow them in the hope of getting easy food.
@junaditya3895
@junaditya3895 7 ай бұрын
If the vehicle were moving or stop a few moment it would not attract hyena. But if it stays for some time hyenas who accidentally see it would likely be curious if something was happening there
@robtheranger

People stop for hours looking at birds. Hyenas listen for alarm calls and look for vultures, and have a great sense of smell. The vehicles being noisy and smelly are more likely to hinder the hyenas then they are to help them

Correct me if im wrong, but aren't cheetahs the most successful hunters. Im sure this loss wont affect them much. They can catch another antelope if they wanted to. Their speed really gives them a huge advantage over the other predators.
@alexf9381
@alexf9381 4 күн бұрын
Sadly, this is not correct. The idea of cheetahs just hunting and catching prey easily and on a whim is not true. Yes, cheetahs are quick and have a high top speed but they don't have great stamina and get tired rather easily so they can only sustain their speed for a short while and quick burst. The vast majority of hunting attempts by cheetahs will fail and the same goes for leopards and lions. I was following live blog updates on a certain cheetah recently and she sadly starved to death because of not being able to catch any food.
@robtheranger
@robtheranger 4 күн бұрын
@alexf9381 cheetah on average have a success rate of about 50% when it comes to hunting, much higher than other large felines. It is higher because they only choose to chase when they are sure they will catch and if they get to top speed and miss more than twice in a row (or lose their kills before eating) they will not have the energy to get to top speed again making it much harder to get nourishment. So a cheetah starving can have been successfully hunting for years then lots one kill before feeding, missed one kill, then lost another before eating and is no longer able to chase down the available prey.

Only one of the cheetahs is an adult. Cheetahs are far weaker than a hyena and even a small injury can affect their ability to hunt so they would rather avoid one that runs towards them

I’m surprised after seeing the thumbnail that it was only one Hyena at first that came in and take over the kill so easily, I realise they are much stronger and aggressive, especially those jaws, but didn’t expect the Cheetah to give up so easily to one. Maybe they were full enough to risk the jaw of one those stinking pasting rats of the plains. I was hoping that a colossal male Lion came out of nowhere to take it off those disgusting things 😆. I honestly try and appreciate hyenas for something but just can’t. They’re lazy, ugly, smelly and thieving creatures with an evil laugh that I guess suits them. Even to research them further and discover not only their very weird sexual organs to watching one of them “paste” as well as being the biggest bullies by picking on the weakest member of their own pack, not maybe a lion or similar. I hope one day someone can tell me just one good thing about hyenas other than their obvious intelligence, as I can’t think of one but would dearly like to at least appreciate their existence. Anyhow, more importantly, thanks guys for another great video and looking forward to many more. Well done and keeps up the great work. Love to get to Africa one day. 👍🇦🇺

Only because people have portrayed lions as noble and strong. But reality is different. There are many vlogs of lions killing their own babies and eating them. They are cannibalistic and will even breed within the family. Nature is like that for all species in the wild. So dont just blame hyenas, open your eyes, and use your brain !!!
