@@ewjiml Depends on the size of the prey, how much it struggles, the risk it poses to the predator if left alive and number of predators eating it (and other things im sure). I saw a pride of lions eating prey alive, the killing part is certainly not an act of mercy, but rather serves to ensure the predator won't have trouble eating its prey.

@@saxopio6280 its nature, the cheetas are constantly getting killedby lions and bigger animals in order to survive they must attack the fawns and animals who run away. Even a gazelle can kill them, they are really nimble and despite their appearance are incredibly light. They often never pick fights with bigger animals for example they will try avoiding humans since we are alot bigger.

@@saxopio6280 Yeah that's true personally im just tired of the cheetah getting murdered by its prey and other predators stealing its food. I think cheetahs act like big housecats they meow, they purr and will not punce you if you turn your back to them. They are incredible beautiful creatures. I hope they never go extinct but they have too much competition. You should watch more videos of then, they are really friendly and have the mannerisms of a cat so if they don't trust you they will hiss and show their teeth.

The Black Swordsman - yeah I love Cheetahs. They are my fav big cat, although some would say they aren’t big cats. And, yes, the life of a Cheetah can be quite unfortunate. You would think with their speed and excellent eyesight they’d be able to better spot other, more dangerous predators, and run off before they can get close enough to even have a conflict. Oh well guess nature is brutal.

There used to be an American cheetah that has the same height as a lion but a body plan of a cheetah. Which means they were slender than lion and could run faster than lion. They went extinct but their preferred prey, the pronghorn lives on and retain the same defensive mechanism which is their high speed than any other north American animal.
