Hey guys, I want to thank you all for the support of my animations, as I would not be here without you guys! Here is to another (semi-)successful premier! 🥂 Also, this video has some pretty cool references and lore to jslegomaster and his ‘Story of Sergeant Winterbottom’ series. After the devastating loss at Gallipoli, Sgt. Winterbottom is promoted to the rank of lieutenant and is sent to fight at the Somme, where he tragically gets killed in action. My headcanon is that it is the son, Sgt. Winterbottom Jr. who fights in WW2 to avenge his father's death at the Somme, and is not the same Winterbottom who fights at Gallipoli

Dude this might be the best animation you made since the Stalingrad full video. Seriously. Some British soldiers having brown folded hats is accurate, because they would have actually been Australians! Some soldiers’ faces being terrified and some being normal is a good detail too, since 1 soldier might have gotten there yesterday and another last year. Pretty much everything in this video is gold. Keep it up. I wanna make stuff like this once I get the proper software and apps.

Dang bro this is actually amazing. I truly appreciate the practical effects for the explosions with the mountains and the cotton for the muzzle flashes. It gives it that stopmotion feel and makes it fit in with the setting. I can also appreciate the practical blood effects they always seem to look better. I also like how you depicted the fear of some of the British with their body language of when they are frightened and when someone gets shot their body reacts to it and 2:01 was one of the most brutal deaths that I saw it really makes you see probably what they saw in the somme and Dude you gotta keep going your stop motions are actually amazing I enjoy them very much same with a lot of others. Keep going!!
Amazing brickfilm. The tension, the emotion, the animation, the camera work, the practical effects… it’s out of this world. « LEGO is just a toy », « Animation is for kids » they said. Well you proved these two commonly heard tropes wrong. Great work! Also I hate to be that guy but I wouldnt be Capitaine Croissant without mentioning that the French Army was also there (unsurprisingly), and suffered important losses too :) Someone who doesn’t know much about this battle could guess from this video that it was solely Brits vs Germans, but the croissants were here too!

in an oversimplified way, the battle of the somme was essential a battle where people were sent to die over nothing, it was suppose to draw the attention from the attacking germans in Verdun if i am not mistaken. But in general it was a battle where people died for a whole lot of nothing.

Wow this was amazing! I loved the wide shots they must’ve token forever. I really line the realism you put in this, especially the shrapnel. Most deaths and injuries in war are caused by shrapnel and not gunfire so that was a nice detail. I also really liked how you didn’t make it just a bunch of mindless people running into battle, a lot of them felt like they had emotion. Great work mate!

cool animation, also, I have a recommendation: if you get tired of having to change the decals every time you put blood on them, before cutting them out, put a layer of tape on them so assuming your marker isn't sharpie, you can just peel off the sticky tac and gently rub off the marker without peeling off the decal Edit: I misspelled tape lol
