I made this cake for my husband's birthday. It was delicious! It is so decadent, and that mousse is divine. He talked about it for days after. This would be a hit with any crowd. This cake with just the mousse as frosting is delicious, too.

Looks so good. I am new to this type of baking and often freeze my cake layers and sometimes freeze a filled and frosted cake. I imagine the actual cake freezes well, but has anyone tried to freeze the filled and frosted cake? I’m curious how it turned out. I am thinking the filling may not freeze well with the tofu.

What a fabulous looking chocolate cake AJ! Thank you so much for showing us your 'how to' to make your German Chocolate Cake. I think that's one I can safely say, with kids and grandkids who like chocolate cake best above all, that this may well become a regular. I love your approach to washing up! My recent move has been a wonderful opportunity to rid myself of so, so many cookbooks I will never use again, although most were vegetarian, since that's what I've been since the age of 12. I've ordered it from an Australian bookseller you don't link to. The Aussie $ to US $ conversion is rather eye watering unfortunately! But it really looks great. I've not got into vegan desserts but the are necessary in life, especially when entertaining non vegans. It's one way to suck them in! 😅

It's waaaay too much dates. You can make this with bananas or other fruits that have a low calorie density, or just exclude the external layer which is just too caloric.

They’re in their 20s and my goal is for them to see the light by their mid thirties. I don’t want them to have any idea that this is my goal! And too much saturated fat in both coconut and cocoa. I don't know, what's the flour out of, but just the fact it's grinded so much to become flour screams too rapid absortion. I myself sometimes eat way too much date paste, but doesn't change that it's loaded with concentrated fructose. It's probably one of the least harmful sweetener with significant benefits of fibre and micronutrients, though. See how Dr. Rogers doesn't fit with promo of desserts like this. But even I sometimes tend to overdo excentricity and critism - not that much difference between autistic weirdo like myself and excentric genius like Dr. Rogers, when it comes to social skills 😂

Chef AJ creates deserts for everyone in the family with the key being they are made with all fruit and nothing but the fruit, and contain no oil or salt. Obviously, you wouldn't eat this if your goal is to lose weight, but family members may enjoy it as an alternative to a processed cake loaded with oil, chemicals, sugar and fat.

That looks delicious but it's not a German's chocolate cake. German's chocolate is a bakers chocolate made my Samuel German. It's a light colored chocolate. Not chocolate powder.
