How to clean the eggs? Easy: Wait for a proper hailstorm, maybe even the hailstorm of the millennia and then start to juggle them (8 at a time). The combination of thermal and mechanical power - THAT ought to crack of the dirt like a sand peeling.

I think the tree can still be saved. But it looked odd, the way it fell. The earth didn´t seem to provide enough space and nurishment for the roots to grow decently. Maybe there is just to much rock and not enough earth on that particular spot. Roots need to grow deep.
