It is better to steam shellfish than boil it is water. Put a couple of inches of water in the pan along with a some clean river rocks (the smooth ones) or some other thing like a steamer basket. Bring to a boil and place it in the pot for 6-8 minutes or until done. To check to see if is done, pull on an antennae and if it comes away easily, it is done. If you live anywhere but on the coast, most shellfish is already cooked. To reheat it, take a several similar sized pieces and wrap them in a wet paper towel and then some plastic wrap and put in the microwave for 3 minutes.

Dude season the water, then let it soak a little after you take the heat off. It will already taste better. Then take some butter and heat it slowly till it melts, add some basil, garlic, oregano, thyme, and onions. Put a towel over a pot, dump everything on top, gather the ends and squeeze everything out. Add some heavy cream and put it back on high heat. Grate cheese of your choice (use less than you think you need) and stir by scraping the pot to keep it from burning.
